I switched to the opera browser yesterday and it sorted most of the problems I was having.

cheers for the nod on opera ive downloaded and is running fine now

Not sure if it's related to all the other problems that's been happening recently, but I've noticed since then that the notifications that pop up for quotes, mentions, etc now only pop up when reading a thread, whereas before they would appear on all pages in the forum.
