How To Protank and evod rebuilding

@anthonyb The rebuild was done and I've had a day of vaping, all is mostly great. May take a few strands out next time.

Did someone say rum! Just rebuilt an evod, normally i aim for 2.5 ish ohms but today i thought i would try 1.5 ish... came out at 1.7 ohms. Im not sure im liking this one to be fair, think i may try a few more but at the mo i prefer 2.5.

Hi Whistler,

Thanks for your tutorial, so much better than watching a vid imo.
Two rebuilds done so far and both came out 1.8ohms and vape soooo much better than the shop bought ones.
I did twist the legs as you did but I gripped just below the coil (lightly) with my leatherman pliers and twisted and got a nice even finish.
Was a bit daunted about trying to make my own coils but was totally unjustified, easy as can be with your help!
Thanks again

I run cotton wicks in my 1.8 ohm coil EVODs.
With 60/40 VG/PG @ 10 watts I can give RIP Trippers a run for his money.

Sick as tits.

Later.

Paul.

I haven't started recoiling myself yet (yet to break a coil actually) What is it that makes Kanthal wire in particular so special. Everywhere I see coiling mentioned people are using Kanthal. Surely there are numerous other brands equally as good, isn't it just resistance wire?

It's not a brand; it's a type. Kanthal I think has better high temperature properties than Nichrome for example. Some say there is a bit of a bad taste with Nichrome too.
