Hey all. Just ordered a five pack of atomizers for my aspire / Vamo 5 combo. 1.8 Ohms were out of stock so I ordered the 1.6 ones. Not that I would know the difference, which is my question, is it irrelevant on a variable voltage / wattage mod and what is the difference between them and for what purpose?

They're just going to get hotter quicker, not by a lot but basically that's what you're looking at. The vape quality will all depend on what liquid & what devices you are using. If you're on a vv/vw device & it's any good, as in, if it's got the right welly, & if your batteries are good & fiery, you ought to be able to find the right setting for you tastes... In theory !

Less ohms / resistance means more power can flow. As you're using a vv/vw device, you can adjust the power. If you were using a mechanical and an RBA, you would adjust the power by making different ohm coils. The lower the ohms, the more power is pulled from the battery.

It didn't make a noticeable difference while i was using a VV/VW device (SVD) but after switching to mechs it makes a big difference, and for me the vape with a 1.6ohm coil is far better then anything higher (more flavour, more clouds, and better texture in the vape as well, almost chewy in comparison to a higher resistance coil)

Interesting. As always. ...I am one of those if it ain't broke Vapers, but some things are of interest. The learning curve smooths out considerably with every post. Thanks to all who replied.

Hopefully you get the right advise for you. With vaping it's worth doing the homework before spending the shillings but it's also worth trying something new if it looks beneficial. Best of luck with it fisherman.

ive found with electronic mods they vape very well @ 1.6 ohms @ 12watts. but try to experiment with the watts or the volts and see what suits you

You're welcome. If you get yourself N ohms law calculator and put in voltage and ohms, you will see what wattage is being used and the amps. It get very interesting when you start going sub ohm.
An example: 4.2v with a 0.5ohm coil pulls 35watts at over 8amps.
If you start getting lower, the wattage increases dramatically.
