Hi

have had a go at recoiling my tanks with silica wick which went ok, i want to try out cotton next to see the difference but have a questions.

1. Do I just buy some 100% cotton pleat or balls from the supermarket and tease it out into a thin wick and feed it through the coil?

2. Do I really need to boil and dry it? If so what's the best way? I remember from growing cress at school that damp cotton can go mouldy very quickly

I think thats it for now but I expect I'll think of more!

100% cotton balls or pleat is fine...doesnt need to be organic or anthing fancy.

i have a giveaway thread for cotton wool yarn which was sent out today, yes this will take time to get to you due to people on list but worth a go ;)

cotton is so so cheap and easy once youve done it a few times and get used to rolling it out etc....and after months and several efforts even im using kfl's now ;)

I use organic personally from Holland & Barratt here as its unbleached most cotton even 100% stuff is bleached or treated to some degree and all the boiling in the world won't remove that.

i use asda little angels baby cotton wool balls £2 for 200 balls doesnt need boiled because its unbleached you just get a thin piece and yeah pretty much feed it into the coil it giives much better flavour than the silica wick and its al i use

I'm also using the Asda stuff. No weird taste or anything and one ball will last you ages. Bearing in mind you get 200 and they'll last you a lifetime.

Great stuff, thanks guys.
am on the hunt for flavour which is leading me down the path of drippers and cotton, will it really make much difference to my protank with silica?

We use organic cotton wool balls
