RBA vs pre-built - Please explain

You can't go wrong can you. Even if you don't like it you can use them to clean your face with lol.

So I turned my RDTA into an RDA last night. I didn't really notice the difference if I'm honest. I dropped the juice into the juice well instead of a tank and vaped. No difference. I didn't really expect that a 1cm less travel time for the vapour would make any difference to be honest. From what I can tell when I convert this into an RDA by taking the chimney and glass out, it's no different to any other RDA?
Am I doing something wrong? lol.
No, nothing wrong. You are just vaping as what folk did before tanks were a thing. :)

No.

Basically an RDA just holds a ml or so in the bottom and the wicks dangle into it, and you drip some juice through the drip tip when you feel it is starting to get a little dry.

They are really easy to use, but most don't hold a great deal of juice so they aren't much use when you're outdoors or don't have time to faff about dripping.

Because mine has a juice lock that stops or allows juice to flow I put the liquid in there. Then I put the top back on and open the juice ports and it travels down to the well where the cotton dips into. So didn't need to put it down the drip tip but it ended up in the same place lol.

Been looking at these big beasts. Are Vaperz Cloud good? For example Steam Crave seems to have a great reputation. From what I've seen everyone speaks highly of their build quality. Is it a similar thing for Vaperz Cloud? Some of these monsters look nice

i've only had one Vaper's Cloud RTA, a 25mm VCMT2, and that was atrocious - basically it was flavourless unless you ran it at ridiculously high power levels - and then it was prone to dry hitting. However, that was a 6 year old design - but it was pretty crap compared to most Chinese RTAs available at the time that were half the price.

I couldn't say about their RDAs, but I get the impression most are designed for high powered cloud-chucking, rather than flavour, but I could be wrong. Personally I wouldn't.... but all my favourite RDAs are 24mm and I think the smallest they do is a 25. I believe they actually market a 30mm RDA as a mini because they have a 40mm version in the range. A 30mm RTA may be large, but the coils are enclosed in a, much smaller inner housing so the deck generally isn't much bigger than a 24/25mm RDA - A 30mm RDA has a lot of space inside and, unless you run it at pretty high power levels the flavour can suffer. Not for me, but I don't vape at high power levels often enough to consider buying one.

To be honest I don't think there's a huge difference between building on an RDA and other rebuildables. It's more about choosing which coils you like best and also getting the coil positioning right to get the best effect from the airflow.

I do like the fact that most RDA's allow you to easily remove the airflow cap rather than just the drip tip which lets me see better what's happening with the coil/cotton. I can also then either drip juice either down the side into the juice well or run a stripe of juice over the coils.

It's also much faster to renew the build than my Blotto RTA's which always needed to be completely taken apart to clean the gunk out of the chimney.

Thanks for that. Just window shopping really for something around the 30mm size.

I can't remember for the life of me who it was that said something was the best mesh RTA around. Was it someone said the Wotofo Profile M was the best? I'm still looking at the Vapefly Siegfried Mesh RTA. I really like the look of it and how it works. The lack of juice wells on the outside to tuck the cotton into I think is a great innovation (if you can call it that).

@LordOdin seems to be one of our best experts on mesh RTA's and I think he said the Kylin M is the best of the bunch.

Oh Kylin by Vandy Vape? I've seen that name come up a few times in various places. I'm sorry I can't remember who said it. Was it you @LordOdin?

I see there's a Kylin M Pro as well.

EDIT: This review is a little disappointing. Apparently lacks in flavour :(

Vandy Vape Kylin M Pro RTA Review - A Little Underwhelming - Ecigclick

The best Mesh RTA for me, well there are a couple, not sure you will be able to get either but the Expromiser and the Siegfried are my favourite Mesh RTA's without a doubt, The Kylin M and the Profile Unity are probably the best 2 that's left that you can still get. Mesh RBA if your looking for Standard size Boro's is the Kylin M for me, The Stubby gives us the Ponte XL which is twice the size of a Standard Mesh Boro and is the only one in that size, Wish Wotofo or Vandy Vape would bring out Mesh Boro's for the Stubby but i can't see that happening anytime soon. If your new to Mesh i would choose the Kylin M over the Unity as it's easier to get wicking right and isn't as temperamental. Get a Doom X if you can, even easier and a great RTA.

I'm glad you mentioned the Siegfried! That's the one I've been looking at. It seems to be available in quite a few stores.

The Ponte XL is an odd looking thing isn't it. Looks like it works like the Brunhilde 1o3 with the steel ropes. I see the Wotofo Profile RDTA works like that too. When I first saw a tank with these steel ropes I just couldn't get my head around how they worked. Well, I knew how they worked theoretically. But I didn't believe that it would work. It's just madness lol. What about when the juice is 1/4 way from the bottom? Does it still manage to pull the juice up those rods?
A review I just read says the Wotofo profile RDTA struggles to keep up with the juice sometimes but the Exvape Expromizer does a better job of it.

Just watched a review on the Doom X. I like it. I like how there's no messing about with the cotton. Just snip and go like the Siegfried. But unlike the Siegfried it has the ceramic block at the bottom to push the cotton to the mesh.
Ok now I'm torn between the Doom X and the Siegfried. Obviously the Siegfried doesn't have the ceramic plate because it pulls juice up from the middle. Just need to consider how important that ceramic spring loaded plate is. GAH so many choices!

EDIT: Does a tank with the coil place at the top (like the ones with the steel ropes going down into the juice) provide a warmer vape? With the coil being at the top, is the vapour warm and does it significantly alter flavour intensity?

Shit. Now I want a Siegfried. Damn you @LordOdin

@Reti if you're looking at the ones with the metal rods they tend to be RDTAs, a kind of mix between an RTA and an RDA so the coil is at the top and you're getting the draw almost directly from it. The Profile RDTA is very, very good. I have never had an issue with it wicking at all. The flavour is very very good as well.

Another Mesh RTA to look at is the Hellvape Dead Rabbit M. It's similar to the Aromanizer in that I feel it works better at higher wattage flavour wise but is also very easy to wick in my opinion. My favourite is the Profile Unity but that can be a faff to wick properly sometimes for me.
