What's new

Real Ale Liquid.

I dont drink ale and tbh no idea what to suggest but if something malty would help there are malty flavourings out there.

Ahhh that might do the job. One I'd need to order in though.

So far thinking...

4.3% Ken Bourbon
2% Oak
1.7% Brown Sugar
0.8% Yakima Hops
0.8% Citrus Punch
0.4% Juicy Orange.

Reckon that will end up more like a pale ale but it's a starting point.

If I was going alittle darker (Porter, Stout etc) take out the fruits and add Double chocolate or even a touch of bavarian cream/dairy milk.

Have all those at minute, if I can't crack it with what I have, time to order the barley I reckon.

I wish you luck with this! A black tea concentrate would give a dry and bitter background note to underly the hops.

And so the waiting begins...

Just two versions for now. One is slightly higher on TFA Bourbon and Red Oak TFA. Other uses a different version of Bourbon at a slightly lower percentage with slightly less Red Oak and a hint of TFA Caramel. Both contain a base with Barley Malt FA, Brown Sugar TFA and Yakima Hops FA.

The Yakima Hops FA smell absolutely superb and gives it a great smell of Ale, kitchen now smells like a brewery.

V1 smells like a light pale ale where as V2 smells almost identical to Newcastle Brown Ale!

Going to give them 2 weeks to steep then testing begins. Anyone have any further suggestions, help always appreciated!

More than any recipe before, I hope this works for you...

Me too! Seems no one has really made a good Ale liquid yet, never know, could be a first!

As I said before, if this recipe works well and others think it's a good one, I'll freely give it out and stick it up in POTV recipe section. If it's crap... I'll slink away quietly and let the thread die...
