In theory it should work fine at 88w .... just get that temp down, that should limit the power going to the coil, so it shouldn't ever be seeing 88w ... it just means that 88w are available to use to get to the temp you have it set at.

turn it right down to as low as it will go on the temp, you'll soon see if it's limiting the wattage like it should be.

I had the temp really low when it was at 88w and was getting dry hits. Turned the temp up and it was burning. Just been trying to find a happy medium.
