Okay i got this today and have tried 3 different coil set up's 1.2 ohm twisted, 2ohm and a 2.4 ohm all using cotton and i cant seem to get any vapour from this thing.. getting a throat hit and actually a sore chest.

Im getting a far better vape from rewicked 2.2ohm heads with cotton in my kanger t3s's.

Any ideas? before i dump it for the kangers totally.

look at the juice channels on the deck to see if they are well machined and clear. Are you getting leaking and/or flooding/gurgling ? are your wicks touching the deck ? Is there a burnt taste ?

Also don't stuff to much wick into the chimney sides, you just want to sit the wick in rather than touching the channel inlet

Keep at it, once you get it you will see the difference :)

Honestly it will blow the kangers away when you learn its foibles

Don't forget to open the air adjuster screw, read a post recently where they'd left it closed and it was like sucking a football up a straw with poor vapour resulting.

Some good suggestions there Peter, once you get your Mech then get your coil resistance down a bit, and as has been mentioned, it should blow you away :D

i built it as per rip trippers video. i had some leaking on two fo the builds but from what i understand that was due to my filling of the atty. emptied and refilled them and they didnt leak again. no gurgling or burnt taste. At the moment i was just trying it ontop of my itaste v3 as my batts for my mec havnt arrived .ive tryed from 8-11w and it didnt make a difference.

tried the air adjustment from fully closed to fully shut only difference that made was the pressure on the draw.

even tryed using it sucking from the chimey before putting the top on and filling it like a dripper and didnt get much either.
could well be my building as i also got a dripper and after building a single coil it was much the same not much vapour compared to my t3s

My tip for anybody on 1st use of a Russian, is keep it simple stupid. Very basic, 4/5 wrap 32 gauge kanthal over 3mm silica. Set the coil as high above the air hole as you comfortably can. Silica length to just go down to the juice channels, but only almost touching the channels. Prime the wicks to 'stick in place'. If juice channels are clear, and air flow adjusted correctly, you'll get your vapour. Once the 'simple set up' is working for you, the world is your oyster and you can try any manner of coil wick combos to see the one that suits you most.
