Looking at the current figures* for smoking related diseases and deaths in Scotland, just under a quarter of the population (around 22-24%) smoke tobacco; add to that the facts that annually there are 56,000 hospital admissions for smoking related diseases and 13,000 people die from smoking related diseases each year. So why, with all the information now available on the efficacy of vaping in reducing and stopping tobacco use in smokers are they pushing for this?

If you are a member who lives in Scotland, please do approach your GP and tell them how vaping has been effective for you in giving up tobacco. You could tell them about any studies you have read (Dr Farsalinos) and how you know the ingredients in your e-liquids and are aware of safety issues related to safe use and storage, that you are able to control and maybe reduce your nicotine intake (self-titration). Without this sort of information from the actual users of Personal Vaping Devices/electronic cigarettes, very few of them will ever make any informed decisions on the future of our health as vapers.
