Schools should stay open imo, uni's? Well, that's all about rent and tuition fees, and most tuition is done online, the students are being ripped off.

I think it depends greatly on which Uni you are at.

For example my daughters lectures are still in a "live" environment.

Just one other student in her accommodation building appeared to have Covid symptoms, and was whisked off for a test asap (paid for by the Uni) and told to isolate in her room till the result was known (it was negative)

My daughter a couple of weeks ago cut herself badly whilst making her evening meal, the campus medic arrived, and she was transported to A&E in a taxi (paid for by the Uni) straight away.

So I really think there is a lot of variation as to how different University's look after their students welfare.

If you want to stop the spread they should close. All learning to be done online.

That of course only works if you are not in a rural area (as a few of my relatives are) where broad band services do not exist, and that your household budget can afford a computer & broadband.

I think universities should close. A lot of the big cities that have had the infection rate rocket have large universities. Coincidence ! I think not.

Uni students = dirty virus spreaders :D

Not all obviously.

What a lovely unbiased opinion you have..................................

@StrawberryRipple
I normally think of you as a person of balanced character, willing to listen to other peoples opinions.
But I have not voted in your survey for the simple fact that it is a "loaded question" as there are only options to close one to all education levels, but no option to say for example keep them all open. :)

I did look to edit the poll after posting but it wouldn't let me and it wasn't intended as"loaded" so i authorise you not to vote.

2k positive cases in one uni alone. Should be shut.

EDIT: Correction. 2k cases between several unis.

which uni mate
Sorry, my mistake. I thought it was at one uni. Apparently it was several.

A total of 958 cases at Durham University, 749 cases at Newcastle University and 131 cases at Northumbria University were recorded over a seven-day period as the outbreak continued steadily in one of the worst-hit parts of the country.

That's just the unis mate. The schools are hit hard up here too. My wife is a teacher in Northumberland and they've just had a few cases, she now has to isolate for 14 days as have 50 pupils and 14 staff.
