Side effects of vaping...

The chronic broke syndrome is running rampid through my veins. I'm hoping once I find that" sweet spot/flavor", I will be able to control it.

Sent from my VS980 4G using Planet of the Vapes mobile app

It's a horrid disease we are plagued with.... ahh yes, finding that perfect vape, if only it were so easy - we are chasing a unicorn across a never ending rainbow road, all we can do is enjoy the ride :bliss:

For the first 2-3 days I gave myself nicotine poisoning. I had headaches, burning sensation on my limbs, and pins and needles in my hands and feet. But by the time a batch of weaker juice arrived i was over it. I went from being scared to pick up my vape, to not being able to put it down. Then after a week i had found a balance.

Probably the worst thing now is that the world smells pretty awful! Everywhere i go i can smell farts, sweaty feet, youngsters wearing too much aftershave, etc.

Been 3 months or more now for me :)
First couple of weeks felt like i had a bit of a cold.
Was coughing up gunk then eventually it just stopped.

Am definitely going to buy some 0% nicotine for the evenings and weekends !
Tend to get carried away and get the dreaded headache and queasy feeling.

Did spend quite a bit initially trying out different kit but have now found a good compromise.
Got my posh kit i leave at home as its glass and i'm paranoid of breaking it.
Then a more robust kit for work and out and about.

Also found my sense of smell & taste came back which was weird at first.

Now i find that i can't stand the smell of others after they have had an analogue.
Its embarrassing to think i use to smell like that !

Apart from dry mouth, not much really. Spending way more than I should but I'm hoping that'll settle down soon. Spending way too much time on this site, but that's a good thing for sure as I'm going to be very knowlagable soon after learning from you guys.

I still haven't found my favourite flavour yet so I go through a lot of juice trying to mix and match ready made juices, which leads to some scrappy flavours too :) so that's the biggest side effect for me, way too much £ on liquid, but I'm going to be mixing my own soon so it won't be a problem experimenting.

I'm already prone to ear problems, and I've had some trouble with my ears/Eustachian tubes "plugging up" a bit. It seems to be dependent on what juices I'm using, so at some point, I'll take note of which flavour/PG/VG combos seem to be triggering it, so that I might be able share it with anyone else with fussy ears.

Edit: it's worth noting that when I was a smoker, I got ear infection after ear infection, which was one of my motivations for quitting. The minor irritation I've gotten from some vapes is nowhere near - as in, not even on the same planet - as what I was getting with the stinkies.

That could be caused by you sucking too hard due to poor airflow, causing your Eustachian tubes to plug. Happens to me sometimes but I just do a valsava manuever http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valsalva_maneuver and this unblocks them. Also, try opening up the air holes if you can.

I have been vaping for about 3 weeks now, i brought a ego starter kit, with 3 juices, the first week was great, the second great, but in the third week i beganto feel very heavy chested and wierd. After trying some different juice i found that when i use a strawberry juice it is not good for me, but my apple juice i can vape as much as i want with no problems.....

What juice you vaping? PG based juices along with low quality flavourings might be causing your discomfort. Try VG juice.

Apart from smoking being generally bad for us, my doctor always used to tell me it kept colds at bay, viruses hate all that smoke & when i did smoke i got a lot less colds than my OH who has never smoked. I do get the idea though that the pg in e liquid acts in a similar way.
Propylene Glycol (PG) has been used in hospital air systems as a disinfectant

Don't know if it's related, but a couple of weeks ago I was having chronic mouth ulcers on the roof of my mouth and back of throat whilst vaping through a bottle of hangsen juice. I tried gurgling with that red medicinal mouthwash with the strong taste (which I forgot the name) sold over the counter in chemists and it wouldn't clear up. I then tried gurgling with a special iodine-based mouthwash and my mouth cleared right up after two days.
Coincidentally, I'm now onto some 100 VG juice and haven't had any problems since.

Some of these I thought were just me! Nice to know I'm fairly normal after all. Quite important to take extra fluids, I've found; otherwise it can be slightly embarrassing to use a public loo!
