Smokers quit in highest numbers in a decade

Nothing quite like the prospect of death from a killer virus to scare people into quitting :)

And a potentially deadly virus that specifically attacks the lungs is of particular concern to those who are already compromised in that department.

When I gave up smoking, I got sick. I went through a period of coughing for months. I was coughing to the point of getting sick and wetting myself. At the time it was diagnosed as hay-fever. It turns out that it could have been from all the years of smoking and coughing up years worth of gunk from my lungs. I'm OK now thank goodness. No more coughing fits. I thought about that time lately and I thought if I was to give up now, I would think a cough would be viral related.
