smoker's reactions to vaping?

I have noticed that smokers smell terrible...

To be fair, it's the smoke you don't like the smell of & if you were ever a smoker then you would have had the same odour just as i would have. I didn't give a shit for 27 years of smoking & now i notice it on smokers just like people who never smoked notice it. I don't like it either but comments like that are provocative & really smokers are our best allies. No disrespect intended but i can't criticize the smokers i meet & know, i can remember just last year when i was smoking with them.

I do vape on the bus on way to and from work, people see the vapour glare then see its not a cig in my hand and carry on sitting next to me, in front / behind me. None of the drivers say anything coz im a regular and chirpy when i get on the bus.

Was outside work the other day random stranger sparked up a cig next to me and apologised for her smoke as she knew "none-smokers dont like it"!

Im always having people double take to see what ive got, think its the long tip that does it.

Others ask what flavour.

Some ask how ime getting on

Even had an EGO user tip his EGO at me in solihull as acknowledgment.

Its getting more known about altern ways of getting nic if you dont want to give up!

after a failed attempt last summer 2 days of vaping Put it in a draw and back on to the rollups. Then where i work there was one bloke on the ecigs and wished him luck with his endeavour. A few months later there were 3 vapping in our smoke shed. This caused me to think shall i give it another go spoke about there experiences took there advice and started. there are now 7 vapers who use the smoke shed we out number the real smokers. I dont think any of us preach come over to the dark side but the smokers are generally curious never negative more and more are talking about trying vaping
I have not been doing this long enough to have any negatives or my natural sunny nature stops any negativity

I've had a couple of negative comments.
Got shouted at by a group of teenage girls outside the local shops..shouting "real men smoke real fags not those plastic things..but then I did have an ego in a pouch lanyard around my neck so expect things like that.
Got a lecture about how unhealthy ecigs were from some old lady in town,I didn't argue much until she sparked a superking up..Then lectured her about how much tar and other crap she was breathing in,media lying etc..ended up taking her to our local B&M vape shop where she brought an ego kit with juices

'Real women' don't stand outside shops, shouting at strangers. And Daily Mail readers believe every single word they read in that toilet rag, I'm amazed you actually turned her around like that!

Ah, there's a Bill Hicks quote I can't quite remember but basically someone tries to tell him cigarettes are bad for you and he threatens them with something like, "yeah well, so are burns to the face." We should stand up for ourselves like smokers used to.

I've had odd none smokers say it's cheating but mostly good reactions to vaping. Had an old lady watching me outside the shop in town puffing away, then her other half came out of the shop with cigs and matches. As I followed them up the street he was getting an ear bash for not asking me about it, lol. Lots of smokers seam interested but stuck in there ways, I must admit I was a bit dubious when I first saw someone vaping thinking no that won't work for me. But after a couple of weeks using one on and off instead of the odd cig I've not had a cig since Christmas.

In the short space of time I have been gaping I have already converted 3 smokers to Vaping and they are also now ex smokers.

Some smokers are curious and for health reasons want to try vaping, sadly some of the die hard chronic smokers look at ecigs as a sham and not the "real" thing...

But hopefully if ecigs are not totally voted out more and more smokers will get to become interested in vaping immediately recognizing the obvious health benefits....
