Hi all,

I’m currently vaping on the Nunchaku mod and tank with a Samsung 25r and an LGHG2. I am however thinking about buying either the fireluke mesh tank or the Falcon mesh tank. The coils on these tanks go up to 70-80 watts, so was thinking about getting the Sony VTC5a. However, looking at the Fogstar website, they have massive red warnings on all Sony batteries saying that they are not designed for vaping and user buys at own risk!

Is this actually dangerous or just some legal warnings they have to have?

Absolutely tons of people have used sony VTCs for years without problems so it should be fine. Probably half this forum uses them, lul.

It's a legal warning.

Sony the manufacturer do not like the idea of Sony products being used in vape devices.

Sony have now gone onto print on the cells "not to be used outside of battery packs". Ben @fogstar stated awhile ago he was contacted by Sony requesting he placed that on the site.

I had this stamped on the side of 2 LGHG2 about 2 years ago and i used them and was fine........

Running a tank at 70-80w will mean youll not get long from a single cell mod no matter what battery you put in it.
Might be worth investing in a twin cell mod if you intend to vape at those wattages.

Yeah i'm with ripple there, i feel uncomfortable running batteries at their limit (or close to). 50-60w is the maximum i run on a single cell, for anything above i use dual battery mods. The build in my dripper currently ohms out at 0.2ish ohms, firing at 80w pulls 21 amps according to the mod. Which is still in spec for the VTC5a, but pretty close to the limit.

A case of "rather be safe than sorry", for me at least.

^^^ Mr Ripple is correct

A single 18650 at 70/80W is not going to last long at all. Depending on usage you could be down to 3/4 hours from fully charged to empty. Also you will be drawing between 24 (70w) and 27 (80w) amps from the battery, VTC5A is rated to 25amps. I'd strongly go with what @StrawberryRipple suggests and look at a dual battery mod if you want to vape at that wattage.

Yeah ok, that makes sense. How about the LGHB2,4 or 6?

I realise these are only 1500mah, and wouldn’t last long, but I don’t really need them to. I just want to be safe!?

I will look into a dual mod one day, but I’ve just got this for the minute.

If you want to stay within amp limits using your current mod, I'd suggest these.

Vapcell are rewraps (I'm not sure what will be under here!) But these have been tested by Mooch (Battery expert) and the figures Fogstar use are always correct. Vapcell is probably the only rewrap company I trust.

As had been said, battery life will be poor but these are best option if you want to stay within amp limit.
