Stomach problems

Thanks anyway, it's starting to look like maybe vaping just isn't for me. I am slightly worried though by the lack of people with the same problem. Coeliacs on the whole seem to be fine with vaping. What the hell is so different about me...

I remember reading literally decades ago about how "smoking" affected the "valves" (sphincters) either end of the stomach with the result that stomach acid could enter the oesophagus and/or bile could enter the stomach from the duodenum etc. The former is known as gastroesophageal reflux and the latter as duodenogastric reflux. Vaping was not even dreamt of then so I didn't delve into it any further.

Just looked into this now since your post even though you say you have tried zero nicotine juice. Reason I say that is when looking into this now, it seems the culprit in these two reflux problems is nicotine, even when administered intravenously. Now lots of us will acknowledge that nicotine (however it's taken) will "loosen the bowels" and too much nicotine can lead to "heartburn" or other gastric reflux issues, not to mention diarrhea.

Your symptoms sound like "biliousness" or bile in the stomach. All I can think of.

I know someone who has one ciggy a day after her evening meal....7 a week.
She thoroughly enjoys it, looks fking forward to it every single day....lucky bitch

Seems odd, whatever you're vaping goes directly from your lungs into your blood stream, it doesn't touch the digestive tract at all.

My thought is if there was a direct reaction it would be in your lungs. Another tangential thought is it could be some kind of issue with the epiglottis, that when you're vaping you're actually getting some of the vapour into your stomach. That would lead to increased bloating and could trigger a wheat reaction.

Other than that it's an odd one, let us know how you get on after speaking to your doctor about it.

Nicotine in bloodstream affects everything and in the case of gastric sphincters makes them loose. Worse with smoking because of the way carbon monoxide affects your hemoglobin.
Did you know that smoking can cause bowel cancer? We're talking about vaping and the only issue with what we vape (apart from occasional real or imagined PG or VG reactions) is the nicotine.
Nicotine has been shown to have health benefits but also health drawbacks. Anyway, if OP is still having issues with zero nic it's probably something else.
