Stomach problems

When I started Vaping,my mate also did at same time, and he also had to stop before really starting and went back to smoking...as he also suffered like you ..one time I see him sweating profusely... He went docs and all he was told was it obviously don't agree with you...he has not vaped since....I will follow this thread out of interest and hope you find the answer...good luck mate[emoji106]

Well, at least I'm not the only one! I just tried 100% VG base, no nicotine, no flavouring. Immediate stomach ache. What's weird about VG causing me a problem is that I used to have a shisha pipe and went through a period of smoking that, and apparently shisha contains VG. Smoking shisha never cause me any problems. Vaping obviously involves the stomach/digestive system way more than smoking.

Just as an experiment try vaping 100% pg, it wont be very pleasant but if you get an immediate effect on your stomach with vg you won't need to use very much pg to check it out. That way you can try and make sure it is actually the vg thats causing it.

I might have missed it but I don't see you mention anywhere exactly what kit you are using. What tank or dripper? What kind of coil? What kind of wicking? What setting...tc or wattage?

My knowledge of the actual kits is pretty hopeless. It's fairly basic, a kanger evod pro. http://www.vapeclub.co.uk/vape-club-electronic-cigarette-starter-kits/kangertech-evod-pro.html

I've also tried a basic vape shop branded starter kit (it seems like each shop has their own one) My stomach reaction didn't seem different with either one.

Could good quality kit make a difference?
Mate,I think if your having such issues
Then whatever kit you use won't make a difference...if your having reactions ..no matter what kit you use your still Vaping VG_pg...ect..[emoji106]

Just thought I'd update this thread in case anyone was interested. I am persevering with the vaping even though it causes discomfort in my gut, but I think I know exactly what the problem is now. And....get ready because this is some personal shit. Literally.

I've noticed that all of my.....lets say 'stools' (nice and medical sounding) have been floating since starting vaping. The cause for floating stools? Excess gas. Which essentially means that my discomfort is caused by swallowing too much air while vaping (a theory that was..ahem...floated... on here already) The question is, how do I stop this from happening. I've really tried to focus on not taking deep or harsh hits, but it makes no difference.

I think the problem is unconcious. Judging by the amount of saliva (absolutely loads) I produce while vaping my body thinks that vapour is food and seems to open up both my lungs and my stomach when I take in the air. I don't know how to correct this....I do mouth to lung, just like I did when I smoked, and I've never had a problem with air in the stomach when smoking.

Does anyone have any advice on technique or a particular Clearomizer that has helped them avoid this problem?

Not really sure if this is helpful as I'm sure you vape the way you do because it's your preference but, for me, switching to directly inhaling into my lungs was the end of that problem for me (never had it as bad as it sounds like you do but either way it was gone as soon as mouth to lung was.)

Then again that was probably around the time I was finally desensitized to all the deliciousness so maybe I just stopped salivating all the time. I do remember that used to happen but not for years now.

If you salivate you swallow it after it builds up. Swallowing loads of your own spit without any food for it to absorb into almost certainly spells out air bubbles.

Yeah the salivation is ridiculous, if that's something that other's have experienced and have found to be temporary than that's a good sign.

I always thought mouth to lung would help to avoid air in the stomach rather than cause it....but I would say that MTL does cause more saliva for me.

I just went to the doctors and got prescribed Lansoprazole for gastritis. I've been thinking that maybe I've had untreated gastritis for years, because since being diagnosed coeliac 12 years ago a lot of stuff aggravates my stomach, and none of it is gluten-related.

I have a similar issue my juices are causing stomach irritation but not all the time, it's dependant on strength of juice and pg have to gave around 30/70 pg/veg can't have all veg and can't have pg to high
. I have to take Lansoprazole but that also causes some issues so can't take it every day.
Hot water bottle helps me but can't walk around with one attached but it's only when I have bad flare ups and change juice. Warmer juices seem to fair better than colder ones as well so temp makes a difference.

By the way floating stools are due to to much fat in your diet, have you had gallbladder checked out for stones?

The floating stools thing seems to have gone away now. But the stomach problems persist.

I've been trying all kinds of juices and it seems that for me VG is worse than PG and fruit flavours are worse than tobacco flavours and weirdly unflavoured is no better than tobacco flavoured for me. So right now I'm vaping USA tobacco flavoured juice, 6mg 80pg/20vg. For me the PG irritates my stomach, but the VG irritates my stomach and continues to irritate it the next day even if I don't vape that day. I've been prescribed lansoprazole, but I found that it actually gave me acid reflux when I didn't have it before so I stopped taking it immediately.

When you say warmer juices do you mean the voltage you're vaping at? I've found that higher voltages equate to more stomach pain. So at the moment I'm vaping at 3.3 volts on my istick mini, with the nautilus mini tank.

You find that changing juice causes flair ups? Would you say that sticking with one juice gives your stomach a chance to get used to it and it gets better? Because since I started I've been vaping a different juice every few days trying to find one that doesn't mess me up. Maybe the constant changing isn't giving my body a chance to adapt?
