What's new

SXK Bantam Box by Pro Vapes

Very tempted. Love my BB but a dinky one for our and a out would be cool. Think I'll wait to see what @rew makes of it [emoji16]

Ok, have found a video review. BTW the Boro tank that comes with it is full sized but has a silicone insert in it to make it TPD.

Apparently SXK will be making various different panels at some point. So, more good news.

My Bantam Box arrived today and so I will give my first impressions.

Overall build quality is very impressive. It is as solid as a Billet Box and feels quite weighty for it's size. This is a positive for me. The panels are the same build quality as an SXK BB and look very similar. The fit is very good and there is only a tiny amount of movement, which is not noticeable in normal use. I will probably change these a set of different ones when they appear. I don't like the drip tip as it's too wide for me. No deal breaker there.
There is a small screen on the top of the device, which can be flipped. I can quite easily read the wattage and just about make out the coil resistance. Of course this is no DNA device and is wattage only. 5 - 30 watts. This is fine for me. The Bantam seems to read the coil accurately and deliver the power as expected.
Included is a Boro style tank, which is full size and contains an annoying insert to make it TPD. Just rip it out and good to go. You also get Aspire bridge with a 1.8ohm Nautilus coil, a Kanger bridge and a simple RBA bridge.
Rather than do a new build I just swapped in an existing Boro with Vapeshell. Worked perfectly straight away.
It's a very cleverly designed and executed device for it's size. It really depends on whether you like the aesthetic and can live with 30 watts max, no TC and a smaller battery. For how I use it, it really does perform as good as a Billet Box but in mini form.

Great to hear it lives up to your expectations! I am even temped although I have to refrain from new acquisitions and was pondering on selling my BB.

Is it square @rew ? I keep thinking it looks wider than it is tall, but I wonder if it’s my eyes playing tricks as they are used to seeing the rectangular bb?

The only downside for me would be the battery life. If I want it to last a full day at 15 watts then I will need to carry spare batteries. Not a big deal but may be an issue for some.

It's definitely square. Personally, I do prefer the rectangular shape of full sized one. It's a compromise for me, but it is very pocketable.

I’m wondering if they’d have been better to put the battery under the tank and make it narrower, rather than shorter.
