SXK Bantam Box by Pro Vapes

Yeah but for me it's a decent sort of mix of juice capacity and liquid capacity battery etc. 350 fks with it imo

Finally got my Bantam Box, so here it goes for my first impressions:

Fit & finish

The good: first I have to say that this size of a mod and it’s design is awesome. The boro tank won’t leak, if it did, to the electronics. The size and weight are outstanding for something that can use a rebuildible. Screen is clear, paint seems quite good. I know it’s something you can appreciate just by looking at the pics, but actually having it is quite impressive. The button is in the perfect spot, and since the air comes for the bottom, it’s easy to avoid blocking it. Magnets are a-ok.

The bad: doors do have a little rattle, which at this price point for a chinese product is not something we should forgive as easily as we are used to. The fire button can sometimes give a funny feeling. It’s rare, but sometimes it feels spongy. Also, just once, it did not fire. It’s the least quality part of the hole mod, and it really shouldn’t be, since you’ll be touching it thousands of times.

The ugly: the boro tank it comes with had a really bad rubber seal which just broke when taking the glass out. Unacceptable. Fortunately I bought two other boros so I could rock it, but it should not happen. Mind you it seems like I’m the only one with this issue, but still looks like not so great QC. The other boros came with the orange-y rubber which is a lot sturdier and better fitted.

Nitpicking aka Jai Haizing: door cuts are weird as f. If you really watch them, they are not entirely simmetric. The curve on one side and the other differs. Also top to bottom. Each door has a different width. OCD beware!

Das chip

The good: easy, no-crap chip. .1 ohm increases which is a must at low wattage. It seems to be quite power efficient. It’s a chip in a 55x55mm mod with an incorporated tank in it and with wattage regulation! Still scratching my head over it. It powers on faster than any mod I’ve ever owned. I truly really hate some chips like asmodus with the charging logo gimmick taking 3 secs to turn it on. I know, it sounds silly but it’s sillier having to wait for a 90’s style animation.

The bad: power efficient... until you hit the 3.3v cut-off. Not great.

The ugly: yet to be found.

All in all I’m happy mostly because of the design and engineering solution it presents. I’d been asking for a pod-like rebuildable for ages. Something small for nic salts and mtl draw and wattage regulated is all I need most of the time. Still, I think it could be better. So lets keep on jai-hazing and tell you how I think it could be improved:

- Doors are thick. One door is thick to accomodate battery and regulation buttons. The other to fit the also quite thick firing button. It’s design trickery to make the whole mod look thinner. I’d rather have it a few mm’s thicker with straight doors and a metal, well made yet thinner firing button. Doors should be flush with the side of the mod. It looks weird.

- 3.0v cut-off. I don’t know if this can be updated via firmware, but even if it could I’m pretty sure they won’t. Which brings me to the next point.

- I couldn’t care less about the microusb, and that takes space which could maybe be saved in other places. Chinese companies history tells us firmware is never updated and we all know internal charging is not recommended at all. If this was a dna with customization options, it’d be different, but it’s not the case.

- Possitive connection. It’s a metal pletine which is weird in a regulated mod. Takes a lot of space, and doesn’t look too good IMHO. A normal pin like any other mod would be better solution. I don’t understand why they opted for this.

This are just my thoughts. It’s easy to find flaws or ways to improve on an already made product. But I do think this is its own kind of genius. I don’t know how we could have a 5ml tank with a rebuildable and a regulated chip in a smaller design. A mini-bb with a dna chip would be a dream, but I don’t know how they could solve the size issues without straight out copying this model.

If someone like vapesmarter could make doors for this (which would be terrific yet painfully difficult due to the curve and internal cutouts), this would be almost perfect for me. That, and a different freaking fire button.

Think are some alternative doors in the pipeline.

Are you sure he’s not doing the 50/50 boxes panels ?

You know how these FB groups are on clones

No, it was definitely a Bantam, which surprised me as well. He's done a few 50/50's but, there's a pic of one in his hand with the "I'm on it", comment.
