As I stated on FB, if this or something similar appears in my Tesco, I will tear it down and demand a meeting with the manager there and then. I don't believe for a moment that this sign, with this particular wording is Tesco's official stance. The decision to bar vaping is theirs, the deliberate misinforming of customers is wrong. Simples.

I agree, i think its down to the particular stores management, however with a chain that big, there should be an Official Notice compiled by the corporate office and not be left up to individual stores.

IF it was Tesco policy there would be headed paper and it would be signed by whoever the boss is.
And if it was a nationwide thing i reckon the corporate side of Tesco would look into the rules and regs.
If i didn't live so far away, i would pitch up with some buddies and vape instore,then see what the manager says!

I seriously, do not vape where I wouldnt smoke. I find it rude but to each their own ya know! Ive been absent minded a few times though and once I realize Ive taken a drag in some place like B&Q I hold it til I know nothings going to come out!


Its the lie about the criminal offense which has gotten my hackles up!

Lol, think that may have come across wrong, I meant I don't mind not being able to vape whilst in a store or indeed anywhere else, But I do have problems with persons misrepresenting the law.

Tesco has clarified their stance on vaping, its banned due to customer feedback. I think that sign was an overzealous misinformed manager though.

Yeah I am cool that they dont allow them, but the sign is all sorts of wrong

Tesco Hi Everyone,

I have just got off the phone with Stephanie, our Duty Manager in store and have provided her with a copy of our policy regarding the use of Electronic Cigarettes in our stores.

Stephanie will be removing the exisiting signs and replacing these with the correct policy.

See, it doesnt take much for us to make a difference when it comes to things like this. One lil step means were closer to a wider understanding about what we are doing, even if they dont change their policy.
