The Flavorah Tobacco Lounge

@Simon G i have FA cardamom and anise. both are good, but really strong and only need a couple of drops per 50ml. they would work well for this.

it is a good idea, chai tobacco. i’d be thinking to stick with tobaccos that are not too out there, would prob go with red burley and cured tobacco for starters. maybe in addition to vanilla some flv cream and FA fresh cream would work.

careful with the arabian, it might go a bit mental with spice flavours given it’s flavour changing powers. i had a 60ml of am4a mixed, and thought i would liven it up with some additions. i stupidly and added one single drop of arabian and it completely changed it. no more piney/brandy/sweet aromatic notes, it turned into strong earthy tobacco with a kind of leathery taste and a weird chocolate note. i then had to split and decant it into two separate bottles, dilute it by half with base mix, and it’s too strong. it’s scary stuff 🤣

Yeah, food for though.. cheers.

I think I need to make up a few tasters with the baccy, it feels like so long since I made anything... I've been vaping Drake's for 6 months. I know I like Red burley but cured isn't one of my favourites.

Sweet and Smokey has sort of a 'black tea-like' note to me.. and the sweetness and smokiness might work here.

I read this whole thread trying to remind myself of what I liked and what I thought, I didn't learn much but it sure was a funny read. 😂

according to the FA site Cardamom has "Notes of honey, lime, rose, sandalwood and eucalyptus." ... interesting.

Do you know anywhere I can find these other than the FA site, with postage it's £10 for the two 10mls.. don't fancy paying that

maybe you’ll find dark arts at chefs or dark star, and maybe nom nomz “craft flavours” is FA? @andipandi might know.

the cured tobacco is brilliant for blending with RB though, that’s what i use it for 2 RB to 1 cured. sweet and smoky is a good shout too. maybe the turkish or oriental would work in the mix too.

Cheers guys... I'll have a mooch around but probably just leave them out for now, see how it goes. I can always grab them later.

The main spices taste like cinnamon, clove and ginger to me (in the tea) which I can do.

I love spices.... My drink of choice is often spiced rum and I'm really liking this tea, I might end up drinking it more than regular tea.

I also have FLV wood spice, which is really sandalwood tasting... I think I may have a eucalyptus too. maybe a drop of each could replace cardamom..... not that I don't already have enough to try and balance. 😂

I learned the hard way too but with FLV Coconut, I completely ruined a batch of perfectly decent juice because I thought it needed a little boost in the coconut department and I added just two tiny drops to my 30ml and it turned into full blown sun tan lotion on steroids. Now I make a 10% dilution in PG and use it accordingly the same as I have done with FLV Rich Cinnamon, Alpine Strawberry and a couple of others. It’s not so bad when you’re making large batches but when it’s only like 10ml etc one drop is a huge amount.

I've been doing some experimenting

First I tried mixing all the spices and some vanilla it came out alright but the clove was overpowering... so lesson one learned, less clove. Very light tasting without any tobacco though but tasted pretty nice, nothing horrible going on.

Then I dumped some sweet and smokey into that, to see what it would be like with some tobacco in it.... and it kind of worked, vapable but not exactly what I'm looking for.... added some VT honeycomb to add some sweetness, which worked, so I'll note that for later.

Then changed tact and tried some tobaccos that I thought might work with what I tasted earlier, I have a few blends and solo going but so far.... sweet and smokey, Red burly, Kentucky blend, Connecticut shade (or some combination of those) might work, ruled out Cavendish.

Added some ginger into those because that's the main spice note I want, something else I learned... FLV ginger is really good for adding to to tobaccos , it's a really bright fresh ginger taste that makes it almost like smoking and drinking ginger beer at the same time... I dig it.

So next move is to find the ginger/tobacco combination I like the most, then start adding the other spices one at a time and see what happens.

If I find that good ginger/tobacco combo I might try adding some apple to that too.. to make an apple ginger tobacco while I'm here.

Chai spices still problematic

But I made up this spicy apple tobacco...

Red Burley/Sweet and Smokey/Kentucky Blend - Actual percentages to be finalized but it's like RB 2:1 the others ... so something like RB 1% S&S 0.5% KB 0.5%

.. and anyway it's good, not too dark, not too pipey or cigary, not too dry or sweet either.... This would be a good tobacco only mix

anyway I added 0.5% of ginger to that and it really worked... final mix might need a little more ginger though maybe...

after vaping that for a while I really wanted to add some apple... I found some FLV apple filling that I bought in a sale, it smelled amazing... sweet cooked apples with cinnamon. Added that at 1% and it was really nice, but wanted some fresher brighter apple too, so added some regular FLV apple to that which worked as well..... then I boosted the cinnamon a little with a drop of FLV rich cinnamon. (Smelled FLV green apple too but it's way too bright/unnatural/sour candy-type apple for this)

It's a banging tobacco, apple, ginger & cinnamon vape, percentages probably need tweaking a bit but the ingredients work together.

I need to get someone else to taste it really and see if they can taste all the flavours, I think the tobacco might be a little bit buried at the moment, but maybe that's just because I've been vaping NET tobaccos for a while. I'm going to leave what's left for a few days to see what it's like then.

maybe the chai will be difficult without actually including black tea. i think that is an intrinsic part of the flavour.

also if you drink chai with milk something to replicate that will be essential. it tastes very different if you try drinking a cup black.
