The New Abyss AIO from Suicide mods

To be 100% honest.... Unusually for Dovpo and maybe Suicide Mods..... I think that the unholy rush with which this was bought to the market is part of the somewhat annoying teething problems?
I can understand why both companies felt the need to get them out there, but it would appear that a bit longer in the Testing Stages...... Maybe releasing a few as Beta Test Units first, would have been a more satisfactory approach?
Marketing is one thing, but hyping a product in the way that one sees so often these days doesn't necessarily pay dividends.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the concept and the flexibility that is offered, but..... Dovpo realised early on that the Customer Service side of things needed bulking up and have done so in quick order, so hats off to them for circumventing many of the issues some of us have had.
I agree and also agree with @eyeball kid said.

For a business it’s an obvious balancing act of when to release against product testing. I’m sure more than a family of five have tested it lol.

Aio are a new breed to me so personally I’m gaining a new appreciation of acceptable issues from a customers point of view.

But hopefully these issues will disappear once D/Po and SM have had a look at feedback etc. Rock on V4

"Acceptable" is a bit of a misnomer?
Coming to the Abyss from Billet Boxes and DotAIO one should have learned one's craft as far as maintenance is concerned, though just how much maintenance being required is a moot point of course.
Personally, I don't have too many issues with looking after my gear, but in today's "Disposable" age... Yes I can see frustrations would creep in?

ONE Thing at Dovpo and SM should consider doing is adding a Torx4 and 6 Tool with the Mod. It would make people's lives an awful lot easier. But, price point etc had to be a factor I suppose. :)

I do love the Abyss and it's a bit of a pain it's playing up but i agree 100% with what @Rob just stated, everybody was screaming for it to release including me but Rob is right they should maybe held off and tested it more before release. The other thing is my Storm Abyss is working like a Charm (Touch Wood). I have just got my Wake Mods Bigfoot Kit to play with so am an happy bunny atm.

Noted to higher ups

After leaving my Onyx Abyss Tank free on some Tissue to try and dry it out i checked this Morning and it's frozen at 5w, can't do anything but take out the battery to try and reset it. Took Battery out then back in, still at 5w with no response from any buttons. I have put it to one side now without anything attached and will give it some time to settle down. It does seem like it's kaput but hoping it might just be down to fluid in the workings. Fingers Crossed. At least i have my storm.

As you've had juice/condensation coming through the up/down buttons it may be worth checking that the down button isn't stuck on, sometimes it doesn't take much juice to do this. I've has this happen with a Uwell Ironfist mod and a Voopoo VMate because of my sloppy dripping (it happens repeatedly with the Voopoo because the buttons are exposed at the top of the mod), I I semi-stripped the mods, put them in a pan of warm water for half an hour and dried them with a fan - it fixed the problem.

The buttons seem ok and nice and clicky, they don't seem to be stuck but in all honesty without opening i don't really know how much fluid has got in there. I have it stood on Tissue so i can better tell how much is coming out and it is still coming out. It's been stood all day, there is also fluid in the battery compartment. I will probably leave it overnight and see how it is tomorrow.

Quick Update :- Still not heard from Suicide Mods and quite honestly don't expect to, My Onyx Abyss seems to have dried out, looking at the Tissue quite a bit of fluid has come out, mainly from the Positive Battery Terminal. Everything seems to be working again but it's early days. Watch This Space.

"There have been two occasions where I have discovered Liquid/Condensation in the Battery compartment, to thoroughly sort that out, remove the 2 deep set Torx screws next to the screen, this allows one to lift the whole assembly “slightly” and allows the Positive Terminal to be deep cleaned on its undersides. "

If that doesn't work, then I am out of suggestions as I don't trust my hands to take dismantling any further, so my suggestion is that you talk in PM to Andy @LordOdin

Thanks @Rob I really haven't decided what i am gonna do, thing is now it's not in my Rotation due to having new things to test so put back in it's box for now. Is it worth stripping it down ?. I am just not sure but would rather not. I still have the Storm in my Rotation and it's working flawlessly so will see how it goes from there.
