Don't think we all hate Trump over here kitty, at the end of the day you are presented with candidates from the next president of the US, and the people cast their votes, most popular one wins, simples.
I was working in Texas for 12 weeks during the run up to the election, so saw a lot of the televised speeches, etc, and to be honest, to me he was the best candidate.

Same over here, lot of people on POTV dislike Boris Johnson, I voted for him in our last elections, and I think he has done a pretty good job so far when you consider he was handed the "poisoned chalice" of the Brexit situation, now everyone is slagging him off over the covid 19 situation, but I hate to think what a mess we would be in if that nutter Corbyn had become our prime minister.

Believe it or not right after he won I was amongst the 'give him a chance' crowd because he wasnt a career politician, he lost me when he started attacking the social programs that we all agree make us better as a society because i am disabled now, after many years of paying into the system and now recieve a monthly stipend for food. He started talking about switching to canned food and nonperishables chosen for us so i would no longer be able to eat fresh food, and thats just innapropriate.
His major problem is he's just not the sharpest tack in the box, but thats probably worked to our advantage by stopping him from being able to do some of the more outlandish things suggested by fox news

The reality is the scientific and medical community has been warning not only the u.s. but countries all around the world for years that we were woefully unprepared for a situation just like this and that was bound to happen sometime because it has happened in the past and it was just a matter of time before it happened again.

China was actually the best prepared for it. My uncle moved to china (unfortunately to wuhan) for work a few years back and he called us mid december to find out what was going on, because china just locked everyone in their houses before they told them why.

Btw, in that sense maybe the w.h.o. should be revamped to give them more authority to make countries listen and take heed to their warnings, but yeah, in the middle of the pandemic that they had been warning us for so long would happen is probably not the right time

Wrong, no authority, or government, should be able to dictate to the rest of the world.
The WHO is an advisory, and information body, quite rightly so.
What would have happened if several small country's in an already impoverished position had been told by the who that they would have to buy say 20.000 ventilators that would finish off their economy for good, potentially killing a hundred thousand people by starvation instead.
That is why they are, and should remain an advisory body only.

Or how about in a few years time they say "we are convinced that the world is on the verge of a new potentially lethal type of STD, so we now order all males over 40 years of age, no matter what country they are in should have their penis's amputated. Do you still think they should have that power ?
