If wooden end cap epoxied on, would epoxy hold and problems with wood splitting off when turned with coin?

One hole drilled in cap off centre towards edge to use a "stirring" action to tighten/loosen cap with small jewellers screwdriver type of thing?

I think if i went with the wood exopied onto the cap i wouldn't need a slot as the disc i would glue on would be the same width as the mod body and wider then the vamo cap so it would look similar to this



but with the circled bit being the wood disc that would be glued to the cap
