Twisted Messes clone.
This one was from a U.S. seller on eBay, (onelostsheep) and was through ebays 'global shipping program' and the £24.85 price included a shipping and custom charges. Took just over 2 weeks to arrive, 2 days over the estimated delivery window.
The box was identical to my UK sourced clone. This seller marks all images with 'Vapor Legion', but I can't see any sign of this online
Once into the box, differences started to show.
First, and most obvious, only 2 AFC rings, blue & silver. (UK sourced had 3) and I could smell machine oil, On closer inspection, there where some more minor differences between the 2.
This is just cosmetic, and not in the UK TM, you can see the oil scum too.
The accessory bag contained the same stuff, O rings, screws, centre pin & insulators, Allen key.
Next up, not so cosmetic. U.S. on the left, UK right.
Don't think any explanation is needed.
The centre posts are also slightly out of line, but this could be sorted by loosening the centre pin and adjusting. The threads on the top cap have a bit more of a crispy feel than the UK TM, but work just fine.
Overall, while its a lower quality clone than the first one I got, it's a decent clone, and one I'd more than likely be very happy with. Don't get me wrong, I'm not disappointed with this, or regretting buying it, it's good quality, it's all there, and will do and perform as it should, but the UK TM just has the edge, just that small bit better, that bit extra that makes the difference between being happy with it, and wanting to buy a second one.
If you really want a Twisted Messes, but can't afford/don't want to splash £42-£80 on a genuine item, this is a decent alternative. Decent quality, decent service and a decent price.
I'm just slightly jaded as my first TM clone was lovely quality, slightly better price and great service.
