UK lockdown..to late

I agree. I might be wrong, shit memory, but as far I can remember, nobody had heard of the virus until at least January. Even if the government knew about it before Xmas, if they'd locked down at that stage people would have gone nuts, they already didn't take it seriously when we locked down too late.

We could have done it much sooner. In an ideal world we would have locked the borders down very early, no one in or out, could have stopped it arriving altogether and kept the country running as normal, with no travel outside of or into the UK. That would have brought its own problems, such as leaving UK Citizens stranded abroad with limited finances.

Also, when has a government ever had the health and interests of the general public at heart? They only care about themselves and their cronies.

It was between December February that the UK was more aware of a deadly pathogen strain is emerging in the UK. And yes the people would be angry if the government did lockdown the UK in December but it might of helped the country somewhat.

When we did lockdown yes it was to late and now we have over 40,000 deaths I know its not a accurate number on my behalf.

The UK has repatriation flights and has used that option.

The W.H.O could have called it a pandemic a lot earlier, all planes grounded and all borders should have been closed in February.

The uk could have moved earlier but early March is the earliest you could have expected significant moves.
The European countries that moved fast did it after it exploded in northern Italy, early March.

Nobody was calling for earlier action.
UK should of moved faster rather estimating what is going to happen.

Its the need to prepare for the forthcoming pandemic. President macron was not impressed apparently.

I do understand we are were we are in this present time.

I don't disagree ............... but I do think it's easier said with hindsight?

Whether anybody, myself included, agrees with you is mute. Most of your statement is guess work and assumptions. There can be no proof that anything done differently would have been better. It could but not would.
It's been done a certain way and there's no going back. Moaning and complaining about it will not bring people back from the dead. We have to snap out of it and live with it. ( no pun intended).
The economy is very important to a country, you only have to go to some African states to see how many people die because of poverty and living in filth. I've seen it.

Sorry for the bit of a rant, it's not meant personally, but we all have to just get on and stop winging about what if. I've lost friends due to incompetent leadership and it's not nice and makes you angry but you have to crack on.

That is all. :57:

There are some pretty obvious actions that were taken that clearly shouldn't have been taken that has made the situation worse.
Discharging old people back into care homes from hospitals with covid amounts to 1/3 of UK deaths.

There are also some other actions that obviously should have been taken or taken sooner.
Lockdown, face masks, test & trace, and so on etc....

All we had in the beginning was hand washing and happy birthday so hindsight nor proof factor into that much for it to be that important imho!

Yes definitely, W.H.O as a world health organisation has got the ability to do that but its was late.

Ive allways said this, I have repect for pathogens (sounds weird listen) they have had more time to grow and Evolve in both animals and humans over the years we have encountered many types of strains with various properties.

sorry, I can't take someone seriously who doesn't know the difference between 'too' and 'to' ;)

This is from 22/01/2020.
It's estimated China had realised the magnitude of Covid-19 around a week before in mid January but still did not lockdown which allowed it to spread globally very quickly.

China... After they knew about the first case of covid. They kept it quiet from the W.H.O and the rest of the world, as a country you cannot keep a deadly pathogen hidden from the world. China really should of shut down immediately but the president still let people go in and out of the country.

The one weapon that pathogens have and is highly efficient is the transmission between human to human, etc.

Yet china let infected persons travel freely.

I have a problem with most people, don't take it personally. :)

I did include a little winky face so you know I was only being friendly and jokey, but no bother. I'll leave you to wallow in despair. ;)
