Vape Tax.. we all knew it was coming

If they only targeted disposables I'd have been fine about that but they won't. This will the typical tory way of just seeing another money grabbing opportunity to tax all vapes to get some of the 10 billion back that they're losing on fags. Nothing to do with targeted protection of young people or getting rid of the waste caused by disposables.

if the king has announced it then vaping is about to be swept away a tax, a ban, plus a ban on flavours seems likely

you will be allowed to vape tobacco or menthol I expect at the worst it will be available at certain places.

I don't think it's all the Tories if labour the greens or anyone else were in they would be banned.

however, if you have a voice use it and fill in the consultation form if you think it's over then it's over

There is a fair amount of media speculation regarding what will actually be done, but the text of the section is:

My government will introduce legislation to create a smoke-free generation by restricting the sale of tobacco so that children currently aged
14 or younger can never be sold cigarettes and restricting the sale and
marketing of e-cigarettes to children

That seems pretty bland compared with what the media are interpreting it as.

Notwithstanding, we cannot be complacent and should air our views via the consultation process.

Since I only vape my own DIY juices it'll be interesting to see how their proposals will affect the sale of flavour concentrates.

The same sort of concentrates also get used in baking so I'm sure people will find a way round any law that tries to ban them.

It's a wider issue than that....what are you going to put you're DIY juice into, if a tax makes it more expensive for kit and manufactures can't be arsed with it anymore.

I think it's unlikely that their proposals will include insisting that we all have to throw away all the hardware we already have. If they want to try and force us all to have to switch to only cigarette or mint flavours that won't be straightforward.
