I have a cheap second hand SZ Vapetech Panzer clone. I decided to try upgrading the switch from spring to magnetic using a 10x6x2mm ring magnet for the switch button and a 10x8x2mm ring magnet for the brass switch housing with the o-ring from the base of an old Kanger coil to make the switch magnet flush with the top of the switch pole.
SZVapeTech.com Panzer Clone.
Switch contact, note the crappy o-ring glued to the switch body instead of a Delrin insulator and chromed? contact.
Switch button. To dismantle the switch, press the button in against a fingertip whilst turning the switch button anti-clockwise. It should come apart easily (mine did anyway).
Switch disassembled.
New parts.
O-ring fitted to switch body.
10x8x2mm ring magnet fitted on top of o-ring.
10x6x2mm ring magnet fitted to switch button.
To re-assemble fit the reverse threaded lock ring. Now fit the switch button with the magnet making sure the magnets repel each other, then place the contact in the switch body and hold it in place while you tighten the switch button by spinning it clockwise.
It works and seems to perform the same as before, just now it has magnets instead of a spring. Probably a pointless modification but I was bored and decided to give it a go.
