If it's illegal to do anything but drive, surely the law about mobile phones is redundant. It has always struck me as an odd law, when it's no more distracting than numerous other things people do while driving

Using a mobile phone driving was compared to the impairment from drink/driving & found to be worse than supping the equivalent of 10 pints in one study,whereas other studies have still used the drink/driving comparison but not stated the actual alcohol consumption.

Either way,I'm glad that it has been made illegal as one of my many crashes was caused by the muppet answering his fecking phone when he slammed into the back of my car.

Using a mobile phone whilst driving isn't the illegal thing per say. Its using a full duplex communication device, hence radios in police and other service vehicles is ok.

Doing anything in a car which causes you to drive without due care and attention is another offence which covers almost everything including even changing radio station.

I vape while i drive. Was evods, now the nem. Just make sure my tank is full before i set off and jobs a good un.

Not aware of it being illegal and they tend to pass new laws as technology changes.

Still see idiots driving while on the phone (nit hands free) or worse texting. Mind you i took advantance of a texter earlier and pulled and ended up down the road before she realised teaffic was moving ive seen the while eating / drinking / make up thing and just think "twat".

If you are old enough to, hopefully, have a licence and,hopefully, a road worthy and, hopefully, insured vehicle / bike then stick to the rules and laws or suffer the consequences. Just dont 'take anyone out' when you screw up and have / cause an accident.

I vape and drive all the time but you can see it coming a mile off that they will make it a big issue and ban it, more income for the cops.

I vape and drive, just as I always used to smoke whilst driving.
I tend to use smaller devices in the car where possible such a my Spinner as I`m pretty sure my VTR would vaguely resemble a phone to a passing Copper.

As an aside, anyone who has ever dropped a lit Cig in their lap whilst driving will know that it can be a bit, erm, distracting fishing a burning stick of Baccy out of your crotch.
Not such a prob with an Ego.
