Vaping whilst driving

I *think* it is illegal (as another poster said about the woman and applegate a few years ago). Most people don't get pulled for it though (except with phones) I think. Then again there was also the Jimmy Carr thing when he got off when he went to court for using a dictaphone, so maybe it just depends how good your lawyer is!!

I don't vape when driving because I didn't smoke when driving, so it's not a habit I'm in now and doesn't seem necessary to develop it. I do sometimes vape as a passenger, which feels weird because I didn't used to smoke in cars or indoors for so long. But I don't think I'll start vaping when driving. I prefer to stop and relax with a drink with my vape.

*Edit: makes me sound like a lush, but I meant a drink of cola or tea!

I vape while driving. It's much less distracting compared to a cigarette. I don't need to search for a lighter, light it or make sure ash isn't going everywhere. Just click and breathe.

My OH does, I just got out of the habit of doing it while driving so not used to it now.

OT but how did you get the mobile app? I've been looking for it on Google Play but it doesn't come up, just the mixing app but not the forum

It's illegal to use a phone while driving but not a CB or Amateur radio. If i was illegal there'd be millions of pounds worth of redundant police technology going cheap on ebay.

Also vape while driving and agree with madpiano - its far less distracting than smoking. Have done the dropped lit fag thing and had ash flying everywhere. And as most modern cars dont have a cigarette lighter anymore, fishing around for a lighter was a nightmare. All of that is now a thing of the past.

I think it all depends on the officer... I have had a copper staring at me say next to me on the traffic lights whilst holding an EVIC with a kayfun on top (not a small device) I was also driving a sign written company vehicle. And they did nothing. Even though there were plumes of smoke going out the window. Considering its illegal to smoke in a company vehicle I'm surprised he didn't say something..

I'm a non driver, but I don't think smoking or vaping is illegal. If it was then there would be no need to try & introduce legistration to ban smoking in cars with children in them.
