Vaporesso itank uhhhh why's it spicy

One question nobody seems to have asked (unless I missed it)..

How hard are you sucking on it? DTL needs a lot more airflow than MTL, otherwise the coil WILL get hot. You should be inhaling through the atomiser, more like taking a deep breath than a little toot.

I have a feeling this might be the problem also. I was vaping the MTL like a cigarette. Long drags. Maybe that's why I have my wattage so low, I'm vaping the Vaporesso on low, frequently, with long pulls like around 2 seconds.

I am vaping on normal mode also

@ickycuboards Do you have the 2ML TPD glass (it has a plastic bung in it). If so, remove the plastic using the above instructions. That will make the tank take more juice, and could be the issue. Give it a go and let us know.

This is what I got. Sorry I have no clue what a plastic bung is but I do believe my problem may be in the way I'm vaping, as I said above

That looks like the TPD 2ML glass to me. If you take the tank apart, you should be able to see the plastic bung in the glass piece. That can be removed, giving the tank more freedom for juice and airflow.

If you're vaping it like an MTL tank, then that is also very likely contributing to the problem you are experiencing. It's a DTL tank and coils, and needs to be vaped that way to keep airflow going through the tank/coil. Without enough airflow, it will get hot.

Like @hack says there is a black insert inside the glass tank, if you take apart then you should be able too see your coil.

The TPD insert is a clear plastic shell that attaches to the inner chimney, it's not part of the glass.

Slide the glass down and the shell comes apart in 2 halfs from the chimney/coil stack.

Once removed from the tank, slide the glass back on and it becomes a 5ml tank with the standard straight glass.

The iTank is not designed for MTL, so it stands to reason why it's getting hot if you are trying an mtl draw at 25w. Thanks for clarifying what you are doing @ickycuboards.

As long as your liquid is 3mg nicotine, open the airflow on the base, crank it up to about 40w, and take a direct inhale when pressing the fire button (like you are breathing in, this is known as direct to lung, or DTL for short). Then adjust your wattage up or down as you see fit for the level of vapour/flavour you want.

Hope this helps you get the satisfying vape you are looking for

So I did figure it out on the end. I was vaping too frequently. As an ex smoker very used to puffing away every second. I was doing the same to the DTL.

I take long draws but limited air flow a quarter open. About 50 watts. I stopped using mine because it's a bit of a throat kicker. Maybe better finding another tank that suits you.

Also a little thing I've picked up recently, a heatsink could possibly stop it getting so hot? It'll make the tank look taller. I'm sure people here will say if it's a way to go

Thank you. I may do that. I'm definitely still learning.
