Vype Alternative for a newbie

Hello guys.

Many thanks again for all the replies. I did a lot of research last night (thank you nicotine withdrawal insomnia) and cancelled my latest Vype order ;-)

Firstly apologies to all of you who are anti-cigalikes. I'm planning to stay with this type of device for the time being. However I can completely see myself upgrading at some point to one of those Doctor WHo sonic screwdriver ones. But not yet. Sorry.

So I'm undecided between these two! I've added my comments below so you can see my train of thought. I think I would be happy with either. But if anyone has strong opinions on the matter I would welcome them.

>>> Which one should I get? <<<

AIO PCC Kit by Innokin
I like the look of this one: both the case that looks like a cigarette box and the device itself being the same colours as a stinky. However is it a good idea for it to look exactly like a cigarette? Will it feed my desire for a 'real' fag?

V1P PCC Starter Kit by Jacvapour
The case fits two batteries in it. So: backup. Useful. Also the device looks like it would 'feel' like a smoke, but be sufficently different than a real fag.

Opinions welcome.

Hello mate.

I haven't used either of those particular kits, but I will state one thing for the record.

The Innokin cartos are a standard 510 connection, which makes sourcing them a lot easier and doesn't tie you to one or two vendors.

The JAC vapour kit has an 808 connection, which whilst still available, is harder to come across than 510 which has become a bit of an industry standard.

That said, I have definitely heard a lot of good reviews of the the JAC set, I would personally prefer the 510 connection of the Innokin.

Hello everyone.

I'm very new to vaping but have been really impressed with the Vype: uk.govype.com.

My father had a heart problem a few weeks before Xmas. He is fine now having received three stents. But visting him in hospital has given me a wake-up call to quit. I'm 33 and have quit before: only lasting about 2>3 years of being a non-smoker over the last decade. My uncle also has heart problems (angina and also a stent) so its in my genes!

So what have a done? I've used the patches before and inhalors but was keen to try ecigarettes.

I've blown about £30 on the disposable Vype 5 pack which I've been using since Christmas. The case is great and the product itself is incredibly realistic. I have no problem vaping in public without others noticing. Smoking for me is more 'habit' than addiction and I truly find the realism of the product a great asset to get me through those 'pangs' of needing a cigarette. Just the act of having a slightly squishy filter, realistic printing and a red LED 'burning' away in front of me hits all the habitual need.

However it is getting expensive!: I've just blown another £35 on the rechargeable Vype version today.

>>>>> So QUESTION: what other competitive product(s) would you reommend that are similar to the Vype? <<<<<

Thanks people. Much appreciated.

Welcome

I recommend EVOD or spinner batteries for the beginner with an EVOD clearomiser on top. The EVOD batteries are a cheap and solid performer, whilst the Vision Spinners (which are variable voltage) will grow with you better giving you more options in the future. EVOD clearomisers (very much like the protank series) are also great performers and are very cheap. The nice thing about them is that you can buy replacements to make it easy or you can switch to rebuilding coils yourself. These combinations will see you through a steep learning curve, give you great results and at a good price.

There many more alternatives out there and everybody here will give some great advice! There are also some very good venders here that'll do a great price for you.

Good luck

I used the jacvapour v1p pcc kit for about 6 months when I started vaping. Great product, well built.
The cartomisers are easy to refill and will last about 10-15 refills.
I went for the black look and blue tip so it was harder for people to accuse me of smoking.
I would also suggest getting the manual batteries as they are sealed units and the auto batteries can get clogged over time and need to be replaced.
If I recall correctly the largest mah batteries don't fit in the pcc so check before buying any extra batteries.
3 batteries on rotation will serve you well allowing 1 to be on charge, charged spare in the pcc and 1 in use.

I don't think you will go far wrong with either IMHO, (so long as you are aware of the connection issue). Just hold the thought in the back of your head if you go through tough times ( and I hope that you don't , -'a lot of people are satisfied at this level.) that there are stronger harder hitting devices out there , and give one of them a try;)
ps wouldn't choose one with a red tip , to ensure that it isn't confused with the real thing when out and about.

Hello guys. HELP!
I bought the Innokin AIO and a tester pack of 5 types of tobacco e-liquids. I've tried two so far and they taste awful. Really bad.
Also I filled one of the cartomisers with about 40 drops and get no vapour when I puff.
Is it my incompetance in filling the cartomiser? Or perhaps the eliquids are just awful?
Any help appreciated.

How are you filling them bud?

The problem with cartos can be that if they are not completely saturated before you fire, the wadding burns and that's pretty much impossible to come back from.

Is it a minging taste, or a burnt taste?

If it's minging, could just be shit juice (There are very few tobacco juices I actually enjoy) If it's burnt, you may have knackered your wadding.

One of the best methods I use to ensure the wick and wadding gets saturated is known as the condom method (all will become clear ;))

Simply half fill one of the rubber ends (see, told you it would become clear) add juice to about half way up it.

Get the connection end of the carto and slowly push it into the filled cap.

This was the fluid is pushed up the centre cavity, getting the wick and the wadding.

Still worth dripping a few bits in the top depending how soggy it looks. Let in settle for a bit, blow through it a couple of times to clear the excess from the centre and away you go :D

So I'm turning it upside down, using a pin to take the plastic bung out, and dripping down the sides at a 45 degree angle about 30 drips.
It is a burnt smell tbh. I think I will throw those cartos out!
Will try again with the 'condom' method. How appropriate for a carto filling virgin.
Can you recommend a juice for an ex-Marlboro Light smoker?!

In all honesty mate, no, sorry :D

I have yet to find a tobacco flavour that i don't find too sweet to be convincing. The closest I've found that are readily available and cheap are Turbo Smog of Flue Cured by Hangsen. Others may be better equipped to assist though :D

If it's smelling burnt, it sounds like it could well be your problem. The wadding is akin to cotton wool, so if you imagine putting a kettle element to a dry cotton wool pad... same result :D
