Evening apes.

I've noticed a problem with a couple of drippers I have (both FT clones).

Whatever I build on them, the resistance seems to be all over the place (jumping about). The same is true on my cheapy eleaf resistance meter.

All screws are fully tightened etc etc and I just can't figure out what might be wrong but I'm assuming it's something to do with the conductivity of the 510 pin.

Maybe I should stick to genuine drippers.

Any ideas?

what drippers are they? what regulated mods with ohm meters have you tried them on? and how much do the wander by?

I'm talking about a plume veil, a derringer and a mephisto. Tried on a Sig 150 so far.

They can vary from say 0.3 - 8 ohms typically.

Seems odd that the mod and the resistance meter both do the same thing

that is true. ive not got any of the drippers you listed although i do have a few clones,trident,omega,n22,magma,origen and a few more and none of them wander more than about 0.1 of an ohm.

do the wander even if you leave the top caps off?

That's without the top caps on. I've not taken the builds any further than squeezing the coils as the resistance changes, it normally ends up with the coils snapping / burning through (and that's with 0.5 mm kanthal)

can i ask what watts you are putting through them?

Even a tiny bit of invisible gunk on the 510 can be a problem sometimes - everything clean on all connections?

You're not screwing them down too tight are you? I keep doing that and had all sorts of problems. Just a bad habit of mine for over tightening things. Had a few shorts from doing this.
