The live chat with Linda McAvan and some Hennes guy was pointless and a waste of time. They did not answer my question about why they call ecig users lobbyists, nor did they address their desire to restrict snus or ecigs while leaving only cigarettes available.

She is a disgrace to a government, any government.

Oh bloody brilliant! Anyone want to buy a hardly used chest freezer containing 75ltrs of 72mg nic in pg????

Just kidding lol. We cannot let up, we've seen underhand tactics before. she might have a plan up her sleeve!

I was reading, it seemed that very few questions were actually answered, and those that were, were handpicked from some of the inconsequential ones like "So what is your next move?". We know her next move, what about answering some REAL questions???

Err. Could be very wrong here , and sorry if I missed previous comments. Just skim reading thread, - but don't think we have completley got there yet. My limited understanding is that we are ok for nic up to 30mg strength which may pose a problem for DIY -ers .
May be a case of battle won , war continues....

Absolutely fantastic news. I'm not sure how anyone can police nic content for DIYers without going against the views of the majority and imposing new restrictions. They've probably not thought of it because so many don't understand how we use this product

Ok, just found this discussion on another forum re the 30mg nic issue.

"I have just had a chat with my Nicotine Supplier (for clarity, they are the biggest pharmaceutical manufacturer of Nicotine in the UK, and have been involved in government talks on this subject)....

They (although still digesting the available information), are of the opinion that "Business to Business" sales of nicotine at levels lower than the prescribed poisons licence limit (currently 75mg/ml) will carry on.

As for end users/customers (end sales, i.e. Business to user) will be controlled at 30mg/ml max level....

This is were the detail of the regulation will come in (in time) but it would be reasonable to suspect it will require business to demonstrate compliance and maybe being on a list of "veted" or licenced business, the final regulating detail of the "however and whatever" will need to be decided on, by whatever regulating authority is responsible"

I wonder if customs/trading standards would have the manpower to check if every bottle of nicotine base labeled as 30mg didn't actually contain 72mg?

Kind of leaves the door open for the more unscrupulous DIYer... not that I would advocate such a thing. (ahem) ;)

Hehe
dont suppose they would have the manpower, but they could always do a surprise visit and random samples....
Many DIYers may be disagree with me, but for me at least if we have to lose one battle of the war, perhaps this is it. At the end of the day there is still a way to mix your own flavours. All vendors would need to do is to mix the nic base and sell unflavoured at preferred differing strengths Not many of us vape at over 30mg anyway.

will still fight em on it tho... :D

At the end of the day, 30mg would be good enough for most vapers but there are some folk who regularly use higher strengths... iirc Dave Dorn often vapes 36mg, just as an example.

I'm sure there are a few vendors outside the EU that might consider offering 'specialist' items to more erm... discerning? vapers. ;)
