What's new

Well done Dr Chris Steele

YAYYY finally! Lets hope people listen and take note. Think we may need another BIGGER server for the forum lol

Moved to In the News section as it's not a New User Question ;)

Nice one!!! I've seen him a couple of time on TV recommending Vaping, He's one of the few along with Dr Hilary Jones ( He's a Man by the Way ) We can do with all the help we can get at the Moment!!!:worship:

Ok he agrees that common sense is required in terms of their relative safety compared to tobacco. Her agrees that most science experts say they can save millions of lives. BUT he still says there is NO regulation at all. Wrong. He shows a clear misunderstanding of the damage that the new regulations will cause and the potential for stifling innovation, laying waste to a growing industry (save for big tobacco) nor does he address any of the concerns that current Vapers have about mg limits, tanks size, media restriction etc etc.
So some positives (including reminding us that there is no actual evidence of the gateway argument) but could do better

`just watched that, not a bad review at all.....although he (the doc) didn't go into specifics about e-cigs and the proposed regulations, he did come across as open minded about the use of, and the benifits of using e-cigs....The target audience at that time of the morning where people are rushing about getting ready for work, getting the kids ready for school etc will probably not take it all in though....

This was on at about 11am today, so hopefully no rushing around, and more people sitting and taking note :-)

I think what we have to remember is, as a TV medical presenter, he has to speak in simple terms, and not confuse the matter with specifics or fine details. IMHO he gave a balanced and clear view, in a way that would at least encourage smokers to look at vaping as an alternative. It also gave the speculating anti-vaping simpletons, something to think about.
On the plus side, he did do a better job of explaining it, than I did in our local club, when someone got a bit heated over me vaping indoors. My explanation was something along the lines of... "There are more harmful gasses coming from the top of your larger, and the resulting gas that comes out of your ass, than there is from this E-cig" LOL Not very scientific, but it made me laugh at the time, and shut the guy up :-)

Yet more evidence that the Tonight program was a watershed as far as media coverage is concerned. There's been a wealth of TV and radio shows now discussing the issue and the debate is on.

All in all a monumental few days for vaping and vapers.

problem is hes just one small tv doc. when you consider all the evidence FOR ecigs by the BIg professionals and experts out there in the EU who have done extensive research which has been ignored or misquoted , yes its a good sign and one more voice to add to the mix along with the supports among the ploiticians, experts and whtnot you have to wonder what it will take and whos support ecigs need to get any kind of proper positive turnaround and though public awareness of ecigs is on the increase rapidly most of what is being said and is out there is largely swallowed up by the negative BS that keeps coming out with the same olf catchphrases ( is gateway the new buzz word?? ) and the general public pick up on these negatives rather than see how beneficial they are compared to smoking.
for all the small positives there are far to many Misinformed, lying, word twisting, people out there who will say and do what and all they can to discredit ecigs to quite frankly save a few quid in there own pockets rather than be bothered about the effects on the health of millions.

isnt it about time someone stood up and said to these muppets.. SHOW me your evididence they are harmful, show me the list of toxins youve found show me the restrictions on nicotine intake on cigarettes that you plan to implment to match that of ecigs.
they cant and they wont not while the likes of WHO would rather kill off people while pocketing money from a bunch of NRT products that have proven NOT to work.. NRT products btw that have more harmful content than ecigs.

i for one dont want to go back on the stinkies and im not giving up my ecigs for anyone.. but end of the day it will become harder and harder to get the juices we want in the flavours we want (hardware as yet is still something that no one seems to be discussing it terms of banning or restricting other than carto tanks ).
