Well done Dr Chris Steele

Agreed Dexter. Like I said, if you look him up, he has done a lot to promote E-cigs and NRT over the years. And this isn't the first time he has physically used an E-cig on "This Morning" either. When he spoke of regulation etc, he seemed to speak from a "quality control" point of view, rather than from regulate it to death point of view. For me personally, although there are some regulations that E-juice currently needs to abide by, there does need to be safety notes, labeling, and a standard/quality mark, that vapers can trust. I'd rather have some regulations that may restrict us, than the current situation, where we may end up smoking juice made from some China man's old engine oil LOL A friend of a friend works in a lab that tests E-juice for nicotine levels etc, and you'd be shocked at how far out some of the levels are, compared to what is on the label. I'm not going to name E-juice companies, as these may just be test batches etc. But I get hold of some of the remaining 20ml, from the 30ml test samples, and the lab writes on the actual nicotine content on the bottle. I've had 18mg bottles that have only had 3mg levels in, which doesn't even come close. I also had one 0mg bottle, which actually had 2mg nicotine in it (cross contamination of mixtures maybe?). I've also had flavours which didn't even come close to those claimed on the bottles. So from this point of view, juice standards need to be set in stone, so we are all aware of exactly what we are vaping, and at what levels ;-)

His link to NRT doesn't fill me with confidence. The opposite. It is being said on Twitter that he may be launching his own brand of cigalike . Unsubstantiated as yet but interesting if true.
No one is suggesting, least of all me, that some kind of regulation in terms of quality control isn't needed. What we have with the TPD, which Dr Steele appears to support, is ludicrous.

If I believed everything I read on twitter, I'd currently be sat on another planet, eating space food with an 8 armed alien, who is actually Elvis's twin brother LOL

It's actually a great source of shared information, blogs, scientific reports and other data on ecigs. I follow many of the leading scientists in the field as well as MPs, MEPs who have expressed views. It's all I use it for and I share such stuff on here

As for the own brand suggestion this appears to stem from the fact he always demonstrates the intellicig cigalike. You see as I said I can distinguish rumour from fact ;)

Oh indeed, I can't fault it as a media source, as long as the posting source is a known and trusted one. Yes, he does seem to have a connection with CN Creative Group. Be that corporate, endorsement, or just as a personal preference, there is a connection there. But he's been working to get shut of the tobacco industry strong hold for some 30 years or more, even though CN Creative Group are part of BAT Group.

Oh for christs sake schofield rolled out the dumbass gateway theory. People are using ecigs to get of smoking cos they know the harm caused. Anyone in their right mind wouldn't take up smoking if there is a safer alternative, not to mention the cost implications

Every presenter will roll out the gateway theory, because it gets mentioned so much. It's almost become self perpetuating what it really needs is for someone like Chris Steele to point out that this is why E-cig flavours are GOOD!, What kind of person would switch to something that tastes like an autumn bonfire when it could taste like custard or squid ink or lemon meringue...:P

Was a good little segment, straight to the point and no round about bullshit. Maybe Scofield was just saying things in place as some of it seamed quite scripted coming from his side

Hope this makes some sort of dent in the bullshit brigades tosh

I think you will find Philip Schofield was prompted to bring "gateway" in to it (these are scripted interviews, not chats on a sofa ;) ), so Dr Steele could poo poo it, and say there is no evidence. Only complete and utter moron would think e-cigs would lead to smoking tobacco. Or it would take a Jeremy Kyle guest level of intelligence, to think that E-cigs to real ones is a smart move LOL

Don't forget that Dr Christian (guy who looks at odd shaped willies on the telly) he's pro-vaping as well.
