What's new

What am I doing doing wrong here?

The Foggers like dual coils rather than a single. I cut the wicks at a 45 degree angle, pre-wet them with juice and put them into the juice channels about halfway down, stuff those little buggers and you'll be in trouble. Be careful when you put the chimney on that you're not pushing the wick right to the bottom of the channels.

Thanks for all your suggestions - here is what I've done now!

1. Switched from 28AWG to 30AWG, this allows me to build dual coils with 1.3-1.4 Ohms easily.
2. started using smaller wicks. I am not pushing any cotton down the channels at all. Instead I am pulling the wicks up, fit my chimney then using a needle push the end of wicks down. I then sill up the entire floor space (for want of a better word with very small balls of cotton. Basically I am not pushing anything down the channels instead all my cotton is spread out ready to soak any juice sucked into the chamber. I feared doing so might flood the atomizer but so far it's working fine and I don't get any dry hits.

So, problem solved (for the time being).

My wicks are not in the horizontal juice channel so the dry burns are I assume due to coil heating too much.

What can I do differently?

I have a dna35 in transit to replace my vamo.[/QUOTE]

Throw the fogger in the bin to start with, they are crap to put it nicely. Chance are it's a cheap knock off. If you have just started rebuilding try a good quality Squape Reloaded clone or a erlkonigin clone, they are extremely easy to build on and the good quality clones have an amazing build quality.

ulsterassassin the fogger is pretty good if you are able to build it right..though it can be a bit too fiddly (I have very small hands so not a problem for me) but as the original maker is pretty cheap it doesn't tend to have cheap knock offs or clones made of it and is a well made atty for its price bracket. ... in terms of picking out a cheap knock off (clone) for the erkolinigin or squape where would you suggest? As they both have ok clones and really poorly made ones....

Look the guy was asking advice on a specific issue which you haven't given... flaming someone else's choice of kit even if you don't happen to like it is pretty petty... if someone is happy to use ce4's or cigalikes then fair enough if it works for them.... likewise we all have different preferences in rebuildable atties... I have foggers and a squape clone and to be honest once built right there is very little difference between them in terms of vapour production and flavour. .. I actually slightly prefer my fogger over the squape

I wasn't "flaming" him. I pointed out the problem he has which is the fogger, now 99% of people that have a fogger will of bought it because of the price which ranges from £9.00 to £25.00 that's good value. If you are new to rebuilding and the fogger is your first RTA you will have issues with it I had issues with it and I'm experienced. Now about your statement that NO clones or they tend not to make clones is untrue and pretty petty as there are clone of them and really bad ones.

Squape clone Squape Reloaded Rebuildable Tank Atomizer 1:1 Clone | VAPEandeCigStore.co.uk

I have an original and this one and I can't find a difference in the quality of the vape or the product

Orchid clonehttp://www.vapeandecigstore.co.uk/RDA/RBA/pid21224/cid1190/OrchidV3RebuildableTankAtomiserClone.asp

This is another brilliant clone of a very good RTA and a hell of a lot easier to rebuild.

Do your research before you start rebuilding or if you've been doing it a while you will save a considerable amount of money. Just because you see a Youtube/forum post/vid of someone using a certain device doesn't mean it'll work for you.

Fogger is an awful choice for a first rebuildable to be honest with you. Get a single coil dripper, or a Kayfun. Dripper will be easier however.

^^^^this, it's very reliant on being dual coiled. It can be single coiled but it's a pita to coil and wicking can be a pain.
