What do you think of these?

Afternoon Each!

I have been thinking of doing something simple(r) in the tin mod area, and have come up with these:

View attachment 1815

As you can see, they are as plain as you like with a simple periodic table symbol for tin with the word "vaping" added. I am planning to do the usual suspects - single 14500, single 18650, twin 18650 and twin 14500 VV, and am also working on a single 18650 3.7V to 5.0V jobbie.

There would be a bit of a delay on the VV models, as all of the last batch of voltmeters I bought are crap and not suitable for vaping applications! Emergency replacement order has boarded the slow boat...

So, what do you reckon on the plain and simple tin mods?

I've reached the point of realisation where I feel that people aren't particularly interested in tins over anything else, and am wondering whether it is worth making them for sale, or just as one-offs as and when I am asked. A crossroads moment (Miss Diane) - dump the website in favour of a "showcase" website where people can have a look and contact me if they want anything. Decisions, decisions...

Thanks for your time and look forward to your comments.

Cheers!

Lee

I hadn't really thought about the market for tin mods. I guess they are a little niche. But then that's why I like them. I also like the fact they have the original markings but that's just my opinion.

I like them. I must admit I have never been a fan of the tins with mint names or tobacco tins - I always go for the plastic ones however I do like the look of these ones.

Duly noted Kind Sir. I made a twin 18650 VV in the plain silver tin and it looks very nice, as the tins are really good quality and the finish is "sparkly" metallic silver. I was particularly proud that I remembered the periodic table! I'm thinking of making a few of these and seeing how they go. Cheers!

An elegant simplicity about this. Me likes. How much are the tins? I know my ex trouble and strife, who is a scientist, would love one.

Cheers Bryan! They won't be any more expensive than the ones on my sight. The twin 18650 will probably be a pound or so more than the twin 14500 as the battery holders are more expensive. Hope to have a few done by the end of November - just awaiting meters and battery holders. :encouragement:

Very sophisticated EK, I really like them and Yes, a showcase website so folk can see what you have to offer is a great idea, there's something special about having to contact a maker for their products, makes them all the more desireable i reckon

These tins look quite classy. Nice sleek design.

You and Gremlin should get together and produce a wood mod. The Gremlinking.
