What's wrong with my wicking?

Also a question for everyone, how do you get your coils so close together no matter how much i try i can never get them all touching? i don't have ceramic tweezers and someone said they help but is this because you fire the mod while squeezing them? otherwise i just cant see how people do it!
Thanks

Do not fire and squeeze.
Get them red hot, release the fire button, then squeeze with a pair of pliers till they cool.
That should do it.

Nowt to do with wicking, but 0.6 ohm is a bit high if you're looking for clouds. Assuming you're using a sensible battery that can do 14 amps without difficulty you should probably drop to 0.3 ohms to bump you up over 50 watts.

I like to S those wicks around the coil just enough to touch the deck but not make the juice travel too far, but dropping some wraps or minimising coils to 2 - 2.5mm ID works well to make it hotter.

According to the retailer, these batteries are good for 29 amps continuous, and my vape buddy uses the same battery in the same mod at 0.3 without any problems.
However, I'm having trouble tracking down the specs for the battery, and until I do, I'm not keen to put it to the test.

IMR 26650 4000mAh 3.7V

No other information shown on the battery.

This is how I do mine :)

Plus, it looks like you have one more coil wind on one of those coils than the other :\

True

the top one has 13 coils and the bottom one has 12 ... you can tell straight off because the bottom one is glowing more than the top

The most reliable way to get a good microcoil is to do it before it ever sees the atty.

I make coils then grip them in the tip of some needle nosed pliers (tweezers don't give enough of a squeeze when you're using thick wire) then give them 10 seconds with the blow torch. This gives you a solid coil to work with.

I'm sure I carefully counted 13 on each coil :(.

Also, how do you center the coils in a mod where the center post is positive? Don't you end up with a really long hot leg?
