What's wrong with my wicking?

I'm sure I carefully counted 13 on each coil .

Also, how do you center the coils in a mod where the center post is positive? Don't you end up with a really long hot leg?

The legs don't seem to heat up like the coil does

On my Zenith,centring the coils is a PITA as 1 coil ALWAYS finishes up with a coil fully in the airflow & the other has 1 end missing the full airflow.

The slightly longer leg needed rarely is an issue if you drape a few wisps of cotton across it to avoid it glowing & burning the juice.
