hi, i'm mr new here, glad to meet you all...

history: previous smoker for 33 years
stopped smoking: about a month ago, not counting days because i'm never going back - in fact now kicking myself for being such an idiot for all those years... it was just so easy...
present kit: jacvapour v1p vcc
previous experience: a £7 experimental one off/rip off from ebay (but it got me thinking), followed by a big mistake £5.00 'trial' online
practical knowledge: negligible
research: fairly good, but hampered by basic ignorance and confusion :)

there you go, my friends...

the jacvapour kit - it's excellent, and i intend to keep using it. It's practical, and discrete.

however, the limitations are now becoming clear. mainly when it comes to the cartomizers... i have a good few that are becoming burnt out and i'll have to renew soon. no big deal because i've refilled them a good few times.

but for home use, the cartomizers are clearly a weak point. i've been looking for clearomizers, but there don't seem to be many out there for 808 threads?

how about an 808 to 510 adapter? or would i be better to get myself a 2nd systen based on the 510 thread for home use?

the vamo seems favourite with everyone... looks complicated tho, with variable voltage etc... ?

i just need to move on a step, with minimal tech detail !

thanks for any replies

Hello hugepiles what an introduction...glad you found us as I think your going to fit right in, would suggest you go for a 510 system as more attys available, if your thinking of stepping up the vamo will make an ideal step up to VV and is such a cheap price for what you get.

If you can find an adaptor brill, if not you'll find 510 is just about the standard fitting now almost everything is either 510 or ego amd there's usually an adaptor to fit :)

Heya and welcome. Jacvapour kits are pretty well thought of but they use a non (nowadays) standard thread. Great intro and congrats on the switch and finding here. How did you find us ?

Must add though an adapter will cost you about £3.00 so you could get one and try a Kanger or nova to see how you get on

I'd say get the adaptor and the Vamo. Kanger T3 clearomizer is fantastic, heads lasts a long time and replacement heads for it are cheap.

I know, the amount of information out there can be confusing but Vamo is simple nothing to worry about. you just pop in freshly charged battery and of you go. if it produces low vapour you just use buttons to increase voltage to warm the liquid more and if it produces hot vapour or burnt taste you lower the voltage. it's an excellent bit of kit if you go for it.

I checked the Lib Flights adaptors at the uk site, and they only actually have the ones that adapt jvapour cartos and clearos so as to be used on 510 devices, I will have a look around though to see where they actually sell the other way around, anyway, jacvapour have today released nova tanks to be used on their devices, and they rock: http://jacvapour.com/all-products/cartomisers/re-buildable-blank-clear-vgo-crystal-tanks-957.html

There is actually a permanent 20% discount, at electronic cigarette reviews website, if one of the other mods sees this and thinks it unwise for me to post it here, let me know, anyway ECR69, if I recall correctly.

Long term though, yes, they do lack compatibility, sadly, but jacvapour is a great starting point, defo

Edit: By the way, welcome to the planet hugepiles
