What's new

Where to begin?

Hi Mandy, and welcome.
Having read you posts so far and those of the others, shoot me down if i'm wrong, but. It seems to me that at the moment you only have the e-cigs that look like cigarettes.
If this is the case then as others have said the forward would be the ego/ ce4 or 5 set up. Reasonably priced just in case you don't get on with it. (most do).
If you have not seen one, have a look here. http://premiere-cigs.co.uk/product-category/full-kits/
This is just a vendor I picked at random. There's loads out there to choice from, or if you can get to a shop even better.
As you can see you get a longish battery and a tank type thing that screws on the top, that holds you juice.
Nice and simple just like the e-cig. When the tank gets low, unscrew the top mouth piece and refill.
As for the e-juices, there's to many nice one's to suggest one. I would suggest trying something that you know you like. For example: if you like strawberries, try a strawberry one. Or cherry, banana, etc. (someone just gave me a lovely apple pie one.
As for coffees or anything that has variables, I would leave alone for now. I say this because I recently tried coffee and cappuccino at my local vender. (he lets you try before you buy). The straight coffee was nice but I found I didn't like the cappuccino.
Sorry if that comes over a bit baby talkish. But i'm assuming your as clueless as I was when I started. (no offence). But you soon pick up all the lingo. "Vaping anorak" I think the term is.

All good advice here Mandy which I took up when I ordered my eGos today. Went for VV (variable voltage) in the end to add a little extra personalisation to my vaping experience. What I would say is to consider the ohms of the head, if you want a good throat hit, I seems to me that you want to go for a lower resistance to avoid the 'burt taste' even if you dont have a VV.

Hi Mandy. Welcome to POTV! This forum has been such a help to me when I first started vaping a couple of weeks ago.

When I first came here a very kind member/Moderator sent me an ego battery with a ce4 clearomiser tank (the part you will with e-liquid with the removable mouthpiece) which is great for a first kit. I quickly ordered another ...and another...and LOADS of e-liquids. I want to try everything! hehe
Anyway, now I have a few bits to be going on with I can send you my ego with the clearomiser if you would like to try something before you go out buying stuff. It is a great little starter vape stick and has a USB charger with it. You can buy more of the ce4 type clearomiser tanks for about £4. I have quite a few now as I like to have lots of different liquids so I can swap about during the day.
If you want the ego + juice tank then drop me a PM and I can send it out tomorrow. If not, no worries, I can pass it on to another newbie.

I am so excited about vaping I can't tell you! :D

Firstly welcome to the Planet Mandy.

I am a little concerned your enjoyment of vaping is going to be a bit short to say the least! Firstly, I know you have given up for 4 days, but how many fags did you smoke a day? What was the strength of Banoffee Pie that you purchased? You will want to take the cravings away with the liquid, and will either be chain vaping (if the nic content is too low) or getting a storming headache (if the nic content is too high)

Next thing is, what are you going to vape this liquid in?? Have you got a kit/battery/tank sorted?

Lastly, whereabouts in that barren, desolate and dire country called Scotland do you live? :D The reason why I ask, if there are a few decent bricks and mortar shops up there, and if you are close to one, I would really recommend visiting, and trying loads of flavours and strengths to see what floats your boat :)

I know its loads of questions and seems pretty daunting, but trust me, it will all be worth it :)

I absolutely agree on the Ego advice - I have 5 now, one of them VV.

The only advice I'd add is that, if you can afford it, a few Kanger Evods might serve you better than the CE4s that most of us start on (which I find a bit hit & miss in quality and they are disposable, so ultimately work out more expensive).

The Evod has offered a more reliably decent vapour in my experience and the heads are replaceable, so you can buy new heads (cheaper than a whole new unit) or learn to recoil your own (cheaper still).

If I could go back, I'd still go with the Ego, but I'd get Evods instead of CE4s (you can find starter kits with Evods).

Flavours are personal, but many of us are keen on the caramel/banana flavours, which I know you've already been drawn to, so I suspect you won't be disappointed there. Personal favourites of mine also include coffee, coconut & rum based flavours (though almost all include at least a drop of caramel/butterscotch or maple), but I mix my own, so there's no end to the possibilities.

Welcome to the Fold Mandy !!! Plenty of great advice from the crew as usual, I was going to suggest an Evod kit as they come in loads of funky colours with matching batteries and are a decent starter to ease yourself into the wonderful world of Vaping ! Hope you become as enthusiastic as I have and of course a darn sight healthier !!!:yahoo: Isk-2013-Hot-Electronic-Cigarette-Kanger-Evod-Kit.jpg

I have just ordered the pink evod kit. Woohoo! (Still as excited about vaping as ever :))

i'm catching up @Fleabag, I've got four now.

I haven't bought any Egos for a while, though I do have about 8 or 9 kanger clones winging their way to me (protanks and protank minis). I may be in the market for a mod, but I'm just a bit unsure about all the messing about with separate batteries/chargers etc and protected/unprotected nonsense. Also not sure I want anything too chunky for taking out & about.

I have to figure out what I want, though - because if I don't go for a mod, I'll want another Twist

Oh, I have 6 power sources, though - I have a usb passthrough as well as the egos
