Much as I would like to go and have a few slurps, it's a no from me.
Apart from everything else, my bladder will cause carnage and I don't fancy the gents conveniences.
It will be like a Christmas once a year wanker brigade meet up.

Probably not, I cant afford most of the local pubs, they're now hipster joints and I'm banned from Spoons. There is one pub, current local Camara branch pub of the year, great beer, reasonable price (£3.50 a pint). Bit of a hike, a couple of miles or more, long walk to have to leave after an hour or so. Vaping has now been banned inside as well, which is perhaps understandable. Better off in my garden or on the beach with some bottles of ale. And it is too risky, I cant take it home to my wife or anyone else, including me.

Rules for that Pub:

We will be opening on Saturday 4th of july
Adhering to all the guidelines
Please be patient and understanding
Table service only
We will still be offering take out service for those not ready to return
Hope to see you all soon at a distance xx

Sussex Police:

Many pubs across Sussex are opening their doors for the first time in three months on Saturday.

But don’t expect your visit this weekend to be ‘normal’.

Publicans have got the tricky job of managing their premises to comply with government advice and enable people to socialise safely without compromising your or others’ health.

So if you do head out for a drink please respect the staff and if you’re asked to leave or come back another time, do so, understanding the difficulties we all face as we get back to normal.
We’re sure the vast majority of you will behave responsibly, but do pace yourself. Don’t drink to excess.

Most pubs will have reduced capacity, may have shortened hours, need you to book in advance or restrict how long you can stay.

Anti-social or criminal behaviour will not be tolerated in Sussex, this weekend is no different.

Plan your travel in advance so you don’t end up stuck without a taxi when you want to go home, and remember your face mask if you are taking public transport.

If you are visiting a bar or restaurant, our message is plan your visit, drink responsibly, follow the guidance

Some replies to the above:

I certainly wouldn't get into a taxi driven by our neighbour, constantly smoking drugs. Brighton and Hove council turn a blind eye so good luck getting home safe in his taxi.

Get people together, add alcohol, then ask them to be responsible. Ok.

Not going!! Staying home where its far more safer! Than going out and taking chances with idiots

No point going out. Have more fun at home drinking. Alot of pubs will be a thing of the past

It will also coincide with a full moon and a lunar eclipse... I'm sure everything will be fine, after all, what's the worse that can happen eh?!?

Alcohol kills the virus! I've been drinking sanitiser for weeks now.

im a bit worried with some places having time slots it will encourage binge drinking

If anyone is thinking about going to Wetherspoons pause for thought about what the owner of spoons did to his staff when lockdown began, if you're unaware look it up tonight.
Now go plan a night in an independently owned establishment with better atmosphere and proper beer.
Enjoy, be well and be safe.

Drink drivers everywhere going to be even worse now

I live in Hastings town centre and am going to stay indoors from 4pm on Saturday

It's a nope from me. I'm all for nipping in on a sunny Sunday afternoon in a few weeks once things have settled a bit, maybe with the dogs. You know the scenario: Nice family walk or bike ride, pint or two and maybe a bowl of chips or something on the way back, go home and doze off in front of the Bond film....
But at the moment and for the foreseeable, I can't see myself going out on a Friday or Saturday night.
I'd like to be there just to see how a bunch of blokes with 8 pints and a load of shots in their bellies are going to be controlled/policed and whether distancing will apply in the smoking areas, where lets face it, everyone ends up by about 2230 anyway.

Not on Saturday although most of my usual haunts aren’t opening anyway, going for a soft opening later in the week.

I am off work for almost three weeks so we will probably try and have a visit on an afternoon at some point, when it will be quieter.

Not sure what Saturday is going to be like. Most things I have seen about it suggest people think it is too soon. You will have the Wetherspoons desperados as usual but I think it may be a bit of an anti-climax. A lot of people are going to be watching how it goes before testing the water.

Defo not Saturday but Sunday evening or Monday afternoon if it's ok to do so.I've only been out once for a diabetic blood test in 6 weeks or so.i need to build up a defence against the common cold etc.

Stopped having nights out drinking in my early 20's, the way I saw it I was spending stupid amounts of money just to wake up feeling like arse in the morning. These days I just stick it in the tank and ride for a few hundred miles in the sticks, get my thrills and feel great the next day, no walks of shame and all that.

One of our meeting spots is a biker pub, but we're usually outside and don't drink, except for funerals, I'd have the one.

Booked for a meal Saturday at my usual pub / restaurant.:beerchug

Nope. It way, way too early. Anyway, I can't see how it would be enjoyable, under lockdown conditions.
