I wouldnt be surprised to find its all exactly the same material just individually worked by the brand manufacturers to appear and work differently.

I actually had some raw cotton like that turn up with some craft stuff and yarn at work. I nicked a couple, took them home, gave them a good clean, boiled them, dried them carefully .... fluffed them up and tried wicking with them.

Just like Muji ........
