Alright folks, hope you're all well. ( I know, I know, not him again :banghead: )

Was hoping I could squeeze some more advice from your good selves.

This time regarding Tanks & E-Liquid. So for example, could my Joytech be used with a different Tank, other than the one it comes with? I noted a few of you said in another thread that I could use the Coolfire Mini with a Zenith or a Zlide Tank, but I assume that those Tanks are made by the same Company that make the Coolfire Mini, therefore they are compatible? Could those specific Tanks work with my Joytech?

Also, what is the situation regarding E-Liquid, how do you know if it's okay to use with your specific kit? I buy mine from Joytech's website, as they pop up next to the Exceed D19 when I add it to my basket, it's Tecc Titus ADV E-Liquid, so I always assumed that was the only Liquid that could be used with that particular Vape, but reading through the Forum, I don't think that is the case at all. Do all Tanks cater all E-Liquid?

As always, I am grateful in advance for your replies, honestly.

Mods and tanks pretty much have a universal standard connection, called a 510. So any mod and any tank with this connection will work together. The only thing you'll need to think about is the size difference...

Eg, whilst a 30mm tank on a 20mm mod would "work" it would have loads of overhang & look daft.

(They are VERY few & far-between but SOME devices do not adhere to this standard and have their own proprietrary threading... not your's tho!)

With juice, yes any juice will work in any tank. The only thing to consider is the thickness of the liquid (vg/pg). Higher vg (70+ vg) is better suited to sub-ohm & rta tanks and drippers using dtl. Whilst higher pg (50+ pg) is better for stock-coil tanks designed for mtl.

Your Exceed D19 (19mm wide) will take tanks with a 510 connection but most tanks have a standard width of 22mm or above.

You can use any 50pg 50vg juice going up to 70vg 30pg (vg is thicker and only gives more cloudage, pg is for throat hit).

I hope that helps.

You need to think about vape gear as falling into one of two categories - closed and open systems.

Closed systems can be considered as proprietory; the power source, the tank and the atomizer are designed to work together as a unit and the manufacturer locks you into future sales of premade coils. Cigalikes and pods are typical examples of closed systems. The components work together and are not switchable with other components. This business model works brilliantly for Big Tobacco, locking in buyers to their products and even juices ... repeat custom, brand loyality etc.

Open systems rely on standard connections between the power source (mod) and the atomizer (the atty - tank, dripper etc.) The atomizer may use premade coils or be user rebuildable (using wire and cotton typically) and often the premade coils can be used in multiple models of tanks, even by different manufacturers. The 510 connection is ubiquitous ... allowing virtually any mod to be used with any atty, so the user is not locked in to using the same manufacturer's atty with a mod. Hence the creation of a vaping set up by the user is open. Manufacturers will sell mod and atty together as a kit, they are designed to look well together and save the buyer the hassle of finding a combination. With a standard 510 connection, these kit components can still be used with other components.

Juice - any atty which includes a refillable tank can accept juice from any manufacturer - including DIY juice. Juice is simply a combination of VG, PG (the diluents), nicotine and flavourings. The ratio of VG to PG is important in that the more VG is contained, the more viscous the juice. Viscosity is constrained by the ability of the wicking and juice flow of each atty/atomizer. Some are able to handle thicker juices with 70-80% VG, some are not. Premade juices are most commonly available as 50/50 or 60/40 ratios.

VG produces a softer and cloudier vape, higher VG juices are sought by those who find themselves intolerant of PG as well as those who enjoy producing clouds. PG produces a harsher vape with more throat hit, prefered by those vapers who want to replicate a sensation closer to smoking.

For juice look at my recommended list stuck at the top of the new user section. On phone so I can't link. All tried and tested by members.
Give us an idea of flavours you want to try and you will get plenty of recommendations. 80vg and above are usually a bit thick for some tanks and coils. It may work but you could be changing your coil on days instead of weeks with a 70vg or 50vg

Guys, sorry to be a pest, but is this E-Liquid okay to use with my Exceed D19 Tank? I have 2 bottles of it sitting here and fancy a change, I see it says PG Medium and VG Medium, that should be okay to use with my Vape then?

as both are medium im guessing that is 50/50 so best with the 1.2ohm coil for your tank. it will work with the 0.5ohm but might be a bit airy and depending on your nic strength a bit more of a throat hit.

Cheers mate, I set it all up, cleaned the Tank, changed the Coil then prepared the coil, let it all sit for 10 mins and..........hated it LOL. Much prefer my Blueberry Ice one, so repeated the process and all is back to normal, will need to invest in another Tank and find another E-Liquid that i'd like, so I can chop and change between the two, getting pretty fed up of having the same flavour. I initially tried a Cool Menthol when I first bought the Vape, didn't like that either, but there is plenty of options, trial and error I suppose.
