there are a lot of bad reviews on line regarding the safety of these? any truth in it and who uses 1?

I have the version1 Z-Max. It puts out a much higher voltage than the screen tells you and so if you are not careful it will pop your low ohm coils cartos etc. I'm sensible with it though, use standard resistance kit on it and like it. I am ware that Alba Vapours withdrew the sale of the V1 and did a recall. I'm not aware of any safety issues as such.
The V2 has by accounts solved the issue but if you're in any doubt,don't purchase.

Are you sure the safety issues were not about the smok telescope? (The original bedore they put the vents in)

the Zmax is pokey, too pokey but I do love it

We have sold many Zmax v2 with no issues. The v1 got tested on everyone then the v2 saw all the problems fixed. We believe using the single battery rather than stacked is safer. The 8th rms setting gives you true readings making it a bit less pokey.
