The ex insists on doing any washing and drying overnight as he finds the noise of the machine annoying. .. I would much rather do it in the daytime when I am there and awake for precisely this reason... apparently washing machines and dishwashers are the main cause of house fires... we don't have a dishwasher as well thankfully. . But timing washing so he isn't around is a nuisance
