Hi all, am a relatively new user ( or will be when my kit arrives) I was wondering what exactly the laws are regarding vaping, I was led to believe that you could vape anywhere ( obviously asking first) but some places, organisations seem to be putting a stop to it with reasons being that it looks like smoking or it upsets other customers who think you are smoking. I take it that it is down to the individual. On vaping itself I am a little confused regarding voltage and ohms. I am awaiting a VGO2 VV with 900mah and 400mah batteries, there are various coil sizes ranging from 1.8 ohms to 2.8ohms. Voltage on the VGO2 ranges from 3.3 - 4.8 V ( I think) am I right in thinking that a higher voltage with a higher Ohms will reduce battery drain? I would be interested if someone could explain ( in simplistic terms) about ohms/volts/amps etc etc .Thanks and sorry for any dumb questions now and in the future lol I just want to be able to get the best out of my device.

Best rule of thumb in my book is to respect the rules as if you were smoking unless advised otherwise. i.e. don't vape where you wouldn't smoke. As the world learns the difference, in time more places will become vape-friendly. Whilst there is no law prohibiting vaping anywhere, all private premises can enforce their own rules. Search this forum for "tesco" and you'll find a recent thread on this exact topic.

Cheers, would always respect other peoples rules as I wouldn't want to upset the applecart. I did have an incident a few years ago, I was at the football and at half time I asked a steward on the concourse if I could use my ecig, he said it was fine, so I started, next thing his senior bod came over and told me to stop...the reason being that it LOOKED like a real cig. Other people around me actually stuck up for me but the guy then threatened me with ejection from the ground. I looked into this and contacted the club who never really answered the question. I took it further to the supporters liaison officer who said it should have been fine. I think it was possibly down to the said steward being awkward. But it makes it hard when one person says one thing and someone else says another.

Thanks, I would always ask anyway, but I have had an incident a few years ago when I asked and it was ok then a senior stopped me and threatened to eject me, this was at a football ground, I enquired why and was told it was because it looked like a real cig. I took it further and contacted the club and supporters liaison and both said they didn't know what the rules were but as it wasn't "smoking" it should have been fine.

Spot on.

I'd heard of a pub quite close to me allowed vapers. I sent a PM to them on Facebook double checking this was the case, they replied and said it was. Popped in there for a drink a few days later and double checked again with the staff that it was ok as I had no idea who replied to my PM on Facebook and it could have been someone else working, turns out it wasn't and he remembered my message.
He just asked there wasn't massive plumes of the stuff and it wasn't at the bar - perfectly reasonable.

I also asked in a Yates pub, he said they didn't allow it but he didn't really care and aslong as we keep it a bit stealth he didn't care but that didn't sit right with me, if the pub itself didn't allow it then that was that to me. I waited till we finished our drink and went outside.

www.eccauk.org has some great information in their Info link in regards to vaping, studies, a letter for employers ect...

The law doesnt cover ecigs...at all. So legally you can vape anywhere you want, but as said above, its down to property manager/owners. Tesco was the most recent case in point where a shop in Wigan put up a rather nasty notice using the smoking law to enforce their no ecig policy, which was incorrect and a blatant lie. Vapers took to Facebook and Twitter and Tesco investigated the claim that this sign existed, found out that it did and ordered it removed. However, it doesn't mean they changed their policy, just are now aware that the wording they used was wrong on more than one level.

Some pubs (mostly non chains) will allow vaping if you ask. I vape in both of the bingo halls here and have in Frankie and Benny's. Lovely lil place out in Burtonwood ( @Gonloopy have you ever been?) called Fiddle in the Bag, scurbby place, but great food stuffed with memorabilia and they allow vaping.

However, the idea of Dont Vape where you cant smoke, is a nice one, but it is always best to ask, and ask until you find someone whos word is "rule". Some places will allow them without too much of a hassle, others will bend if you explain what it is. Also using NON cigalikes and referring to them as Personal Vapourisers helps in the instance someone gives you that "I dunno about that" kind of look.

should add also, I was told if I wanted to use my ecig I should have bought a ticket for the part of the ground with a smokers section.!!!

Flat out refuse to accept that as a solution. You do NOT smoke and should not be forced or guided to an area that would be harmful to your NON SMOKING existence!
