Cotton help!!

If it's dry in the centre then you're probably making the wick too tight, for a 2.5mm dia coil you need a strip of muji about 4mm wide, peel off the outer woven layer on each side then twist just the very end into a point, When you pull the wick through your coil there should be just a little resistance, this is how I wick coils and I almost never have any trouble with them.

You might find this a useful illustration - Wicking starts at 17:30 ish

Thanks for the advice I will give that a try! I don't want to quit as I'm quite enjoying making the coils. Guess it's just a learning curve. You guys are always so helpful on here and never judgemental.

Well this is another attempt following everyone's advice. Quite pleased. But only firing it up will tell I guess lol. Attached is before and after liquid shots!

Seems to be firing nicely. Have to let my ego in and actually say I'm pleased with this. I've only been building for a week lol.

Great stuff. Do you know what you've started lol. Enjoy
Beginning to realise! Already planning on attempting rebuilding my kanger subtanks and also updating my aspire nautilus x4 with something I can rebuild lol. I've ordered the new aspire triton 2 so I can do a build that's no sub ohm. Excited but getting expensive lol.

Does cost to start with but once you have a setup buying stock coils is no longer needed, that's how I persuade myself anyway. I think as long as I continue vaping for the next 20 years and buy nothing else I should break even lol. Nah It's not that bad I used to spend £70 a week on cigs so no love lost
