Some people are just ignorant of the risk, others just assume it won't happen to them and others will take the risk because they think the benefit outweighs the risk.

I just wish the media didn't feel the need to sensationalise it and the public realised that the only reason it makes the news is that it almost never happens.

I wonder if it would be SUN news if someone set themselves on fire after falling asleep holding a cigarette.

edit: Last year around three fires a day in London were linked to smoking and half of accidental fire deaths were related to careless disposal of cigarettes.
