Ecig turns man into human fireball!!??

I told my Mrs to always use the 0.5amp charger we have, rather than the 2+amp ones we have for phones and tablets, when she charges her Istick 20. I memory serves the instructions don't over emphasise the importance of a decent charger and its amp range, and I know from my days with RC aircraft the lithium batteries need a little respect. Is the Istick charging circuit a little suspect?

+1 on the rc front, I've had some shady looking cells over the years!!

Trouble is folks always want to charge fast, I've got an xtar charger that draws about 0.2A when charging 3 cells, takes for ever, but no warmth to the batts, my old racing. Nicads got too hot to touch!!

A bit off topic (sort of) I know, but I could spend the best part of a day slow charging my lipos, on multiple chargers, for the following days flying, only for the weather to turn to poo. That's the main reason I gave up to be honest, batteries deteriorating without adequate use.

Thing is, you either knew, did the research or the chap who sold you the gear told you about your cell care and charging, Im fairly sure those big drones use lion or similar too. Joe public never takes things seriously enough for my liking

I leave my 50w istick charging unattended overnight, as I do my coolfire4, wismec presa and mvp20w. I believe they all have overcharge protection.

Dunno about all iSticks but the 50W has a 1amp charging limit, mine starts to get hot if i use a 2amp charger.

The instructions in the box do state that you should't use anything above 1amp but I doubt if anyone takes much notice.

I thought they did, hence why I'm suddenly a little apprehensive...!

Okay here is the thing, shit happens. Things break or malfunction, or just simply bad luck happens, maybe there is a power surge that kills the overcharge circuitry. Sure it is unlikely to happen, but it can. You are supposed to unplug electricals from the mains when brown outs and power surges happen. Yes there are mechanisms in place to prevent anything going wrong, but there is no guarantee. Is it really that hard to not leave things charging overnight? As I recall iSticks have passthrough capability so you can even use them while charging so there isn't much of an excuse to not charge them while awake.
